mbc not at all the chip tunes the ecu to run 14/17psi with the stock bcs fuel pump highly recommended but not necessary. with the td-04 and stock injectors/maf you "shouldnt" be running more than 12 psi anyways (which is pretty much fuel cut point) i highly recommend the chip just make sur...

booyaah told you exact same issue i had. and yeah take the entire manifold off there will be a lot of gunk around the gasket that if not cleaned up could cause issues. and if you can, change the t.b and iac gaskets at the same time, i didnt have them on hand but they both would have been 5 minute jo...

true there are a few things you can do to check them on the car and by all means do them! but because of the drag caused by the brakes and differentials, transmission etc. binding is very hard to feel without the cv joint out of the car and in the freeee. and i see inner cv's bind on an almost month...

yeah i had lots of issues with boost leaks from the stock y pipe cut up with a silicone 90 clamped on. then i switched to an ebay y pipe and it works like a charm. i recommend the aluminum one it was tricky to fit onto the 06 tmic but it works well and is meant to fit one your tmic and its cheaper t...

the wastegate opens once target boost is reached, the target can be regulated by the stock bcs or an aftermarket mbc or ebc. or by just the wastegate which i beleive is 9 psi or something depending on which td-04 you got. so if you reach target boost by 2500rpm the wastegate will open so you dont ov...

oh and to find an intake gasket leak if you suspect one spray carb cleaner around the gasket area with the engine running and listen to the engine, if theres a leak it'll suck in carb cleaner and the rpms will drop and it will bog and stumble, it may even die if the leak is big enough. dont use brak...

nope the ones that came off were identical to the new ones and they look to be sortof like a metalic composite type gasket not the same as a head gasket but much tougher and durable looking than the paper ones. i ended up taking the manifold right off, i figured i might as well do it right and clean...

12.4 is definitely too low voltage at idle. most vehicles are 14-14.5v at idle. my leggy sits at 13.6v at idle and goes up to 14.4 at 1500 rpm i've been told by "subaru specialists" that its normal for the older subarus to sit a bit lower than 14 at idle as long as it shoots up to over 14 ...

intake gaskets

so i've got an intake gasket leak went and got a couple from the dealer and brought all the tools i THINK i'll need from work. easiest way to do this would be undoing all the bolts and basically prying the manifold up to change the gaskets now these are sortof metallic ish type gaskets so if i do it...

doesnt mean its a good idea though. his maf is being maxed out for sure so the injectors are wide open not pulsing above probably 12 psi and injectors are not meant to be open longer than a split second, thats just how they are designed. one day one of them might not close when he lets off the throt...
