You're right - the JDM switch must contain more contacts. You could still do it using 2 12v delay-on-break timer relays. Just wire up the switch to energize the relays with a 1 or 2 second delay interval that allows for the flasher module to drop out the trigger voltage. This way when the flasher is...

There is probably switched constant power available somewhere on the flasher module itself. Check out the module with a DVM as you operate the turn signals and find where you have switched constant power and use that to close a relay. That's my best guess based on your description - I haven't played...

I have a catless 3" turbo-back on my 91 SS and it works excelent. It's pretty loud but it has a nice deep tone to it. I can't compare power-wise to the stock stuff as my car came to me with the 3" half-installed on a half-installed engine so I just finished the install of both at the same ...

Turning the key before depressing the clutch to fully on whatever it is called, allows fuel to be pumped and Fresh oil to be pumped through the turbo, Keeping it from Starting on old dry oil, of course it wont matter unless in the long run, eventually damaging your turbo, i think? I had to fit a 3" turbo-back to my 91 SS. It required a LOT of modification and about 14" of pipe added to it to get it out to the bumper. All the hangers had to be moved and then it tool about 4 hours of fitting and TIG welding with the car on a friends lift to make it fit correctly. It c...

JB weld does not expand and contract with the temperature changes experienced by the tank. As you can see in the first picture it didn't take long to crack the JB weld. JB is not designed to be a sealant - it's designed to repair rigid assemblies and frankly it's a cheap, consumer level product in c...

Effective and simple turbo water tank repair.

We are all familiar with the way the nipples on the stock plastic water tank's of the 22T's disintegrate over time. Looking at them carefully it's apparent that the plastic (which is really more of a composite material embedded with some kind of fiber) has broken down and become soft - allowing the ...

Just a quick photo of the PCV hoses around the silencer and the PCV valve that screws into the manifold would help. Not sure what you mean by pinout but I'm not looking at anything that is implicitly electrical here so I don't think I need any pinouts. Perhaps I'm reading the parts manual wrong, but...

Re: Noob Q: Does my Legacy Turbo need premium fuel?

I have some noob questions about the turbocharger on my Legacy: 1. The turbocharger requires premium fuel right? That's not correct - the ENGINE requires premium fuel because of the attainable cylinder pressures while under boost from the turbo. The turbo itself requires oil and coolant... and exha...

Can someone take a picture of their stock PCV setup for me?

The parts manual breakdowns are woefully inadequate and my PCV up near the intake silencer and the valve itself is all hacked together by the previous owner. I would ideally like the part numbers to set it right again but as I intend to modify things anyway, simply knowing how it's supposed to be pu...

I beleive the releif valve is in the pump so it's going to put the gallery at whatever the turbo oil pressure spec is. I don't have it handy.... But the EJ22E is known to last 300k without major mechanical failures on the stock pump.... if you were planning on adding like 5 psi of turbo to it then I...

10w-30. I use Chevron because their quality is high and the price is right at Costco. I would never recommend a higher viscosity oil in the Subaru engines unless you were running baja in the Gobi desert. The clearances are extremely tight (less than .001") and higher viscosity oil will not flow...

I doubt it would hurt anything, but the turbo's use added pressure both to compensate for the oil-squirters and the turbo - every hole you punch in the pressurized gallery means less pressure to each component so you increase the gallery pressure and volume to compensate. Also the additional load on...

WTB 91 - 94 Turbo Water Tank (21132AA010)

I need the upper water tank for my 91 SS. One nipple has been broken off and JB welded back on (not by me).

Dealer wants $105... I was hoping for something south of that.

Have paypal ready....

The original post had nothing whatsoever to do with EJ22T's. He is after what heads to put on a 2001 2.5RS. That would be a phase II EJ25 Non-Turbo.

Actually there is no difference in octane used in europe and japan. The difference is the way it's calculated and displayed at the pump. Octane "rating" is always either MON or RON or some combination of the two. The rating system is mandated by the country the fuel is sold in. The 92 sold...
