Re: Body swap my Rusted 93 SS into a 93 none SS?
Ok. All great info! Good to know that the NA Rad setup will work with a turbo motor swap. I assume a few guys here have done these swaps. So if i yank the entire dash board and as much as the wiring as i can in one shot, these 3 connector for the intake manifold harness are coming with? I ask this q...

Re: Body swap my Rusted 93 SS into a 93 none SS?
Hmm interesting. This seems more doable than i might think. My current concerns are this wiring and radiator business. I know the 3 engine wiring connector by the washer jug go somewhere back into the car then into the ECM and what ever else. Are these connectors PART of the dash board harness or is...

Re: Outback strut swap Q's
Ok. Not to keep this thread alive or something. So i did lift my legacy with just outback struts. I used 1999 outback struts. Brand new from KYB and Ultra 8's never heard of them but they work OK soo far. My EXACT setup: 1993 legacy turbo springs 1999 outback 2.5L struts 195/65R15 Goodyear ultra gri...

Re: Rear subframe is puff pastry
OK. Update! I have been able to replace the entire rear sub frame! All bolts that were bolted to the uni body came outwith any issues! Now the long spindle bolts were not soo nice.... What had happened was the 2 bushings on the bolt seized to the bolt. So you could not twist out the bolt. I ended up...

Re: Outback strut swap Q's
So. From what i have read from these additional post, people just run an outback strut and basically whatever spring you like... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/36097-1992-legacy-wagon/ https://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=45604 BUT the springs depending on car for sure ha...

Re: Outback strut swap Q's
And this is why i ask these kind of questions i guess. Now this is what i assume. The lower spring perch on the stock legacy ss struts is likely the same as a 99 outback. The strut rod/ tube with treads on it is also the same length between my 93 ss and a 99 outback. The only real difference between...

Re: IAC problem?
Good call on the alternator.
Good thing in converted the car to run the more easy to find 2 wire alternators.
But again. All seems good!
I will for sure test the alternator on the bench one of these days.
Just need some time.

Re: IAC problem?
OK. Long time no see. I had to wait for this for a long time for a real result. Update: So i had this odd running AFR when pressing the brakes last summer and into fall. I think i figured out the problem over this spring and summer time. The cars battery was just weak..... Yes that sounds so dumb an...

Re: Rear subframe is puff pastry
Excellent suggestions! So i have replaced rear sub frames before on newer subaru's. I have replaced 2 2003 outback rear sub frames due to rusting out..... I did manage to remove the 4 main frame to uni body bolts but with MUCH difficulty. I mean cans to PB blaster and a host of other things. Also im...

Rear subframe is puff pastry
Hello legacy central. I come today with a simple question. What is people success rate of replacing extremely rusted rear sub frames? I mean EXTREMELY rusted. I can push a screw driver clean into the sub frame where the bolts go into the body of the car. http://i449.photobucket.com/albums/qq219/Tomm...

Re: IAC problem?
Well. To put the car back to "stock" is i would think fairly difficult in my opinion. Mainly because i would have to pull the turbo, and other junk related to that. But i could do that as a last resort. I know my local tuning shop called speed factor racing DOES do in shop dyno tuning. But...

Re: IAC problem?
Have not checked out my wiring yet due to too much other work, BUT this hit me like a TON of bricks! My turbo flows too much air. Its sounds stupid i know. Just hear me out. Re: IAC problem?
OK. Performed the TPS calibration the best i could. All the feeler gauge numbers see to be with in spec. I swapped the TPS from my beater to my good car. Still runs the same........ I noticed when i removed my turbo inlet pipe, you know the one that cracks all the time. It was cracked! So i replaced...

Re: IAC problem?
Ok Legacy777. I will try the ecu reset and perform the full TPS diag. and calibration this weekend.
Just need to bring home my multi meter and feeler gauge set to start.
Will report back again with findings.
Tom.

Re: IAC problem?
OK. Sort of update. So the car does idle OK I think basically all the time now which is good! I see anywhere from 12ish to 14.2 AFR now. But now I still have this lean cruising AFR..... It keeps bouncing around running lean all the time when warm.....making the car run way WAY to hot....... I have a...

Re: IAC problem?
Legacy777 yes I have JUST swapped out the IACV. I could NOT find a good used or new IACV for a ej22t so i had to find some other replacement. I ended up finding a guy who was parting out a ton of JDM cars like wrx/sti's/twin turbo legacy's. I risked it all with a 22650aa132 IACV. looks like this: ht...

Re: Are there really only 688 Legacy Turbos?
Again. Not to beat a dead horse because no one really knows how many there are out there. I live in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. I have seen a few 90-94 legacy turbo's. To be fair, Winnipeg is the biggest city in Manitoba soo your likely to see more. Probably in my travels and such i have seen probably...
