Yeah Nissan injectors work too. I don't think I would want those intake manifolds because they would be really expensive and you would have to buy a TGV delete kit too unless you got a JDM intake manifold. Unless you can prove some massive flow gains or some huge benefit besides fuel injectors it's ...

The magnaflow universal ones work, but they have less flow and aren't as efficient as an OEM one or a metal substrate catalytic converter. You can get race cats that are like little bulges in the downpipe. They have higher flow and are more efficient at burning fuel so it's easier to pass emissions ...

You should've known this was an issue with Subaru's. As soon as you hit the magic number in torque you start shredding transmissions. You either have to run a stock clutch and flywheel and be really nice to your clutch, turn down the power, or upgrade your transmission. Some people never have proble...

MK2 Jetta, learned everything I know working on that car. It was the best car I ever had. It was faster than my RX7 or my Legacy, handled way better, got 42 MPG, didn't attract cops or loose women, and was actually a blast to drive.

Wow that is a very clean intake setup. It looks a lot different than mine. I think you're using a lot more of the EJ20H stuff than I will be. What sort of intercooler are you going to use? I plan on just using the 06-07 and they have a nifty flange for the recirculator valve that makes it a lot easi...

I've been trying to think up a solution for my inlet boot too. Nice find! So that floppy dong on the 90' bend is for the IAC? And the big nurple on the other end is for the recirculator valve? Why didn't you put the inner timing belt cover on the block? Whats wrong with the plastic gears? I was goin...

The valve cover gaskets aren't tough to find at all for this EJ20H...they're the same as an early '96 USDM EJ25. The Fel-Pro part number is VS50555R, you should be able to get them anywhere. In fact, every other seal and gasket is the same too, as well as the timing kit. If you tell the parts guy i...

Watch out for gaskets too. The only place I could find the valve cover gaskets and valve cover breather gaskets was Rallispec and they had to import them from Japan which took over a month altogether.

I had the same symptoms on my car. I would do a compression test on all 4 cylinders to determine the problem. If your car was like mine, then cylinder #4 is going to be like 25-50 PSI lower than the other cylinders. When I took the block apart and I had the cylinders measured with a micrometer the #...

Really the spider gears? Hmm. Is there any way to put in stronger spider gears or reinforce the R160? Have you tried using Redline MTL for those syncros? That sounds like a stupendously short lifespan for those syncros but it happens I guess. It's all in how you shift. My RX7 had the same problem wi...

I'm surprised you still watch this topic after like 2 years. How is your tranny holding up? Is the R180 rear diff even worth it? It sounds like it would be a lot of work considering I already have the 3.9 fd ratio VLSD and the automatic driveshaft. I could leave my whole drivetrain from the tailshaf...

Just thought I'd bump up this thread, good info. I'm really thinking about the STI 6 speed swap for my SS. Right now it's an auto and it needs a new transmission either way. I know the STI swap is more complicated but I would need to get all the parts that make it more complicated anyway being that ...

Over on NASIOC guys are calling these LGT gears. I consider that a bit of a misnomer. While the 2004 LGT was the first time we here in the states saw these ratios used, they were originally introduced in the V5 STi and continued through the v6 STi and Prodrive P1, but with a super short ring and pi...

I think the stock spoiler off the SS is about as big as you would want to go on that car unless you totally changed the entire look and got a whole 4 piece body kit, hood, etc to go with it. You would basically end up with a stock WRX and have spent $5,000. So either get a WRX or stick with what you...

Yeah I just got a set of the plastic gears and I am excited to try them out. They are WAY lighter and it's 4 of them. I'm sure it'll make a difference in engine response like having a lightened flywheel or something. What I really want to see is how you install that twin turbo engine in your left ha...

I'm curious to see your impressions on what this does to the balance of the car. I have heard some people say that with the stock center diff an LSD in the front causes a lot of understeer and takes away from the car's balance. I can see it vastly improving front end grip but without DCCD it may mak...

If you look up sound clips on like youtube of cars with equal length manifolds or other manifolds it really changes the sound. The boxer rumble seems partially a result of uneven lengths in the runners and getting a different manifold increases performance but gets rid of the sound. I saw some websi...
