Re: tune up my legacy
Everyone likes NGK spark plugs and I'd have to agree with them. I'd say not to waste your time with a performance drop in filter. A stock one is fine. You could run some injector cleaner through your fuel system (bk44 or whatevery it's called is good stuff). I don't think dirty injectors will throw ...

Re: tune up my legacy
Spark plugs could be the problem, as well as the Air Intake Control Valve. Might benifit from spraying some cleaner through it as well as the MAF. I'd work on getting the idle fixed first. Make sure you don't put a lot of money into tuning up the car when it's something major like the headgaskets. I...

Re: tune up my legacy
Plugs, air filter, fuel filter, engine oil/filter, and transmission and rear diff. fluid changes, are all pretty straight forward and what I'd recommend doing. Wires are super easy if you want to change those, just make sure you push till they "click" onto the spark plugs. If you want to c...

Re: tune up my legacy
Probably filters, spark plugs, maybe fluids too. All things your can do on your own.
It could use a timing belt change with those miles if it hasn't had one yet, I doubt that's in with their tune up based on their price.
Is yours a turbo? Auto?

Re: no power to tail lights?
Your parking light switch on top of your steering column may have a poor connection. Power runs through that for your parking lights, so if anything goes wrong with the connection at the switch the parking lights won't come on. There are three red wires under the dash that are for that switch. If yo...

Re: HID Kits
How did you test them?... Installed? Which headlight is the main harness hooked up to? Are your grounds good? If they are installed make sure you're getting power to your factory low beam harness. If everything checks out and still no low beams it's probably a fault with the HID kit.... or it's only...

Re: To desnorkel my car or not? Opinions?
I've done a lot of modifications to intakes over the years... I always end up going back to stock for one reason or another. So that's my recommendation. No K&N drop in either, I go for the cheap non oiled filter.
For quicker throttle response I'd recommend a cheap used lightweight crank pulley.

I have an MSD with wires I'd rather not sell with my car. I would need your spark plug wires as I had to destroy mine to make what you see below. PM if you're interested. http://images3a.snapfish.com/232323232%7Ffp73437%3Enu%3D32%3B4%3E95%3B%3E3%3B5%3EWSNRCG%3D37339%3B8246336nu0mrj http://images3a.s...

Have you pulled the other end of the wires off, see if any water got down by the spark plugs? Go ahead and give the ecu a reset too.
As far as the maf cleaning, they sell maf cleaner at most auto part stores... maybe walmart too. Just take your airbox off your car and spray inside your maf.

Re: 1991 SS no crank
That should cause a no start condition. I'm not positive, but if that sensor was to go out it should behave as though it's in gear. I would go back to the ignition switch. Check for continuity on the "S" terminal and the 12v wire that powers it when you turn the key. You can also jump 12v ...

Bump for steelies. Made the mistake of outfitting my winter tires with 5 spoke rims only once. I was more concered about look than function. Commuting in those after a weekend of drifiting in the powder is a lesson quickly learned. GLWS

Re: Inlet elbow questions
Silicone will be fine. If you're worried about it just put a couple snug hose clamps on the bend, it'll help reinforce the sidewall. I'd just put a silicone bend in it and forget about though.
I have 90/coupler/hose clamps sitting around, PM if you're interested.

Re: Starting Problem
Yeah, I'm gonna do some testing this winter. All signs point to the coolant temp sensor but it's giving accurate readings (plus I put a new one in, and the one I took out had recently been put in there). As far as the clicking relay, it's tied in with the A/C system. Suposed to turn off the compress...
