the tool is not nessecary to get the pin in the piston it is only to start the lineup of the rod and the piston. if you have any tapered dowels and can manage not to splinter them in the engine it will do the same thing. once the holes are lined up its as simple as sliding the pin in the holes. Oh a...

Im not looking for a kit, a reflash or a swapping program. Has anyone ever swapped a turbo valve body into ...

yeah i got the right front and rear diff combo. the fwd fuse does its job as well but i still get the flare. i even wired in a switch later on that would force 4WD. (coincidentally enough, zero duty = 50/50 split) As for "shift flare" i meant that when it goes from 2nd to 3rd with my foot ...

two things. First has anyone ever tried to modify their own valve body? Ive seen the IPT kit talked about on a few threads but i would assume that someone out there is like me and doesnt want to spend the money on something they may be able to do themselves. I know there are domestic valve body mod ...

the main switches do go bad from time to time. but usually it doesnt all go at once. do any of the other lock or window switches work? do you have power and ground on any of the window circuits at the main switch?

you got pics. maybe they are mounted on opposite sides than where they should be. there should be one adjustment screw on it. it will move them both vertically and horizontally though. 02 wrx lights can be swapped left to right and they cast a vertical beam instead of a flat horizontal beam. as for ...

93 t-leg 4eat tcm question

I have the afore mentioned 93 turbo awd with a juicebox auto. My wife has a 95 awd auto. with that in mind. to my question. I want to know if you can safely swap the tcms. reason being... i dont like the 90-10 power split. her car has a more sensible 60-40 split when accelerating in a straight line....

well if you are looking for off road capabilities and rough innacurate shifting you could always just unplug the TCM. its also a good way to see if the front and rear diff are the same. i would like to know what this 4x4 mod is though. ive been trying to find a way to get more of a 60/40 split out o...

being that i currently work at a mazda/subaru dealership i can say two things.
1. mazda sells a lot of 5s.
2. lesbians dont like the tribeca and are getting too big for the forester.
i think subaru would sell a decent amount of these, but i agree they are ugly.

it sounds like you dont have access to a press. in order to replace the front diff assemblies you should replace the ring and the pinion gears as a set. if you dont you may end up with some preload issue or noises. also if you can remove the transmission and split the case yourself you could always ...

i now have what i assume is the only automatic ss with 4.11

so it all started when i lost all foreward gears in my transmission a while back. with 290000 miles on my car i decided that rather than fixing the existing trans i would just find another one from a 93 legacy. well i went to a place in the chicago area called eric japan engine because they had a $3...

ok now from what i understand if the rear diff is a 3.90 then the front diff has to be a 3.90 as well. my car still has the placard declaring the rear diff is a 3.90 right on it. it looks quite original. so what do you mean by go by the front ring and pinion and not the rear diff? also i dont have a...

new car new trans problem used parts.

hi im new to the forum. and first off i have a question. Has anyone ever run into a problem where their auto trans worked until it idled and then would only slip? furthermore it would make this awful noise form the torque converter. well thats what mine is doing. it works fine when you first start u...
