I belive I remember it being a Version II WRX intercooler.. so that would make it a '95.. IIRC the intercoolers put in the WRX's are all relatively the same up until the Version V.

You can tell just by the picture alone that the Forester IC is not as deep as a stock WRX one is, so I'd imagine you could probbly fit that one in without much of a problem. I haven't tried for myself however, so I can only guess ...

Yeah that's a novel idea.. it'd basically have the same function as the ones on the 2.5RS and old sk00l WRX. IIRC the rally cars use some sort of dryer ducting type stuff to funnel air right from the radiator straight out the top of the hood.

Yeah after about an hour and a half of driving in almost 90 degree weather it was a little warm, but only to the level a stock intercooler on a WRX gets. It was a big improvement over the Saab intercooler tho, because when I said "it became hot to the touch" I really meant "it tried to eat through ...

It was brought up a few times, and once the install was done we sorta decided there aren't many options to make the hoodscoop bigger without either getting a hoodscoop from a car where it wouldn't quite match the hood anymore, or fabricating one from scratch.
