My preference would be to rebuild this engine, but if i decide its not worthwhile i was just curious if its worth anything to somebody else. I would probably be selling it as a longblock.

Yea the shields are pretty beat, i think im just going to toss them. I may even replace the exhaust with an ebay piece (not sure if they will fit or if there is any benefit). If the engine is salvagable i think i'll go ahead and replace the head bolts. They dont seem to be to expensive. Thanks for t...

Engines out (with pics) and a few questions

Apparently it wasn't very well maintained and has several oil leaks, and also had quite a bit of blowby. The engine had a pretty serious knock. Im hoping to rebuild this engine rather than repla...

Perhaps he meant crank horsepower? I would imagine there are gains to be had with a tune but im not sure about that much. However i would guess that the stock tune is EXTREMELY conservative since the engine is non-intercooled from the factory to prevent detonation.

thanks for the reply. Im not dead set on retaining the stock ihi turbo, infact i am considering swapping to a WRX turbo also. I will definitely check out the ej20g. Its definitely my preference to make it a pretty straightforward engine replacement. what kind of condition is your ej22t in? $400 is v...

Replacement engine for 93 SS 5mt turbo

Hello guys, My 93 SS turbo 5mt legacy has got a major engine malfunction and i believe it to be a broken connecting rod based on the loud knocking sound and seeming to be a cylinder down, but i wont know until i get the engine out and disassembled. While my car does have the ej22t, they dont seem to...
