Free(SEA): 91 Legacy SS rear seats

Have a gray rear seat from my old 91 Legacy SS. I'm moving and I don't feel like moving it, so if you want it come get it. Very good condition, just some fading from the sun across the top. Located in Kent, WA. The little "dent" in the driver side seat back is just from a bicycle helmet th...

Re: Upper coolant reservoir compatibility?

Both actually but the hose I can get from subaru, don't imagine it being too expensive. Let me see what subaru wants for the tank first though, since I could get it quicker that way I assume, being that you're in Portland. Nice appropriate sig you've got there, haha. Thanks guys, looks like the wrx ...

Upper coolant reservoir compatibility?

A hose just snapped off the reservoir(the metal, or at least metal-looking, one), now I need a need a new one and fast. Anyone know what all is a direct swap for a 91 turbo? Since I assume they will not have the right one in stock at Subaru. Or if you have one sitting around that would be awesome too.

Re: Plasti Panda

I've had it on the trim over my window for over two years now, the only place it's pealing is where I picked it off with my fingernail just to see how easily it comes off, and it hasn't come off anymore than what I did.

It's only supposed to last a year though, definitely not a permanent thing.

Re: sedan rear light bar gaskets

That isn't a light, it's just a trim piece, and there's no gasket in there. If you're getting water in it is likely from the tail lights or the trunk gasket.

EDIT: Whoops! Don't listen to me.

Got it in, runs great now!

Took TEN DAYS to get it though from PartUSA on Amazon, but I suppose shipping was free so I can't complain too much. However if I'd known I would have picked a faster method...

If you replace the pump and are still having issues I could see if I have time while I'm up there to take a look at it.
It's a 91.

And thanks I appreciate it, I'm sure I'll be okay though, I have two other cars to drive anyway.

Re: Car starts and immediately dies

HI, I don't see what you're working on ....assume it's AT LEAST a Subie :-) But in Renton/Seatttle/etc. you should be able to find a Walbro or Deatschwerks fuel pump for $100-$ 150- or find a used STi pump? You'll need an install kit, too. GL, TD Yea I'm looking for a Walbro, but it's not something...

And of course the one part I can actually get same day from the parts store or the dealer is the one where it's actually similarly priced or cheaper to upgrade *sigh*

I made a thread with more detail

I think the fuel pump is dead. But I guess I better check the wiring before I spend the money.

Car starts and immediately dies

Might as well ask here while I try to troubleshoot. It starts up just like normal, but dies immediately, doesn't sputter out or anything just starts up fine and immediately after shuts down, what you would expect from a vacuum line being disconnected. I replaced the MAF with a known good one, made a...

URGENT: Anybody have a MAF in Seattle that I can borrow/buy?

My car is dead in downtown Seattle, needs a new MAF sensor but autoparts stores and Subaru are a 2+ day wait, does anyone have a Hitachi MAF that I can use just to get the car home?

Re: Dip Your Car.com

Not sure how I feel about this. How durable is plasti-dip in the long-term? Will it separate at the edges and allow moisture in, promoting rust? How's the fade resistance? Does dirt get embedded into the coating like it does on tools and become impossible to clean over time? It is not meant to be p...

Re: diamond racing wheels?

I looked into them before I bought my Stance wheels, nothing wrong with them, just heavy. To answer about Subaru offsets, they're custom and they'll make them in pretty much any size or offset you want. I've always been curious what the other designs looked like on cars, I only ever see the typical ...

Stanced = low offset, lots of negative camber, and super low to the ground. Basically their goal is to make it as low as possible with as low of offset wheels as possible without.

Re: Getting started in rally, questions

I thought DooWops were run under NASA. Hey, I'll sell you back those blown STi struts if you're looking for a cheap stage suspension. I'm not seeing any DooWops since 2010, do they still do it? And it's listed on the RA site, but not under the normal lists so I dunno what it's there for. They weren...

I thought about NASA but there doesn't seem to be any races by them closer than California. There are some Canadian rallies I could make it to so that's there. Guess I gotta weigh my options here. Either swap or buy something else. Would be nice to have the extra cash to spend if I sold this and bou...

Re: Getting started in rally, questions

Well the plan was to start in production class, since it doesn't take a whole lot to get started there, no need to start in any open class. If it comes down to swapping I'll just sell it and buy something NA, then I'll have more money to put into the car anyway. I know rallycross isn't really the sa...

Getting started in rally, questions

I've been trying to read up on rules and whatnot, but there's a lot of info to take in. I'd like to start rallying the Legacy, but I need to figure out what exactly I can and can't do. Basically my biggest question right now is about the AWD turbo rule in Rally America, stage rally is my ultimate go...

Re: 90 Degree Elbow..Plasti-Dip?

A new one should last for a long time, remember these are 20 year old cars, rubber tends to wear out after that long, it's not gonna get brittle after just a few years.
