Re: junk lightbar, really cool switch

k it's hard to explain but I live in the northern part of BC. I do alot of fishing at night in the winter pretty far out. That's the only time I use the lights. You can't even tell the headlights are on with the aux on so there's no point in running them. If it is a busier road i'll keep the lowbeam...

junk lightbar, really cool switch

I seen a thread on nasioc about unique modifications so I posted this one. Anybody ever driven an old ford van or truck? Remember the high beam on the floor switch? They still make them eh I had three options for my light bar switch 1-splice into lowbeams 2-splice into highbeams 3-a toggle switch I ...

185/65r15 nokian hakkapelitta 5's, factory studded. That ice was crazy slippery. All the apexs got polished quick. And ya took alot of patience and granny footing it around the corners to stay out of the deep stuff. I find the other problem with ice is power does not help at all. I got the car tuned...

Re: Rallyx Legacy rs

The gopro 3 has built in wifi. There's an app for iphones and androids that lets you pair to the phone. Real cool cause you can see what the camera sees, control it and adjust your settings from 600 feet away. Downsides is there's about a 4 second lag and it drains the batteries on the camera fairly...

Rallyx Legacy rs

Recent vid from a WCRA rallyx, got 3rd out of 29. Gonna get around to a build thread eventually. Just picked up a go pro 3, put together a custom mount to capture the action. Yes, it was really really slippery:) enjoy!

driveshaft compatibility

It's friggin great living in the middle of nowhere sometimes. Need a driveshaft. Found one somewhat local but I gotta ship it still.

Anyone know if a driveshaft from a 97 legacy wagon 5mt will fit a 92 legacy sedan 5mt?
Thx guys

Re: EJ20G "RobTune" Info

I'm having a re-occuring maf nightmare. I got one good one and the car runs fine but the maf cuts our every 5 minutes or so.
Does anyone know if I can splice in a newer style maf? The screw in type off the 02 wrx

wtb green label mafs

need 2. I dunno what it is up here with used mafs. I'm on my fourth one and it's moot. Got one that works but it likes to cut out. The other ones all overfuel and hydrolock the motor. You got one or a couple working I'd appreciate it. Jecs or autecs works for me.
Thx

Re: Cylinder #3 misfire

Taking the walk of shame. Wasted a whole day off. My bad completely. Timing was good. Went over everything. Took another look at phyrra's ignition converter. During the swap I mixed up the wiring and didn't make the proper correction. So....hopefully this is a learning lesson for someone. Read the f...

Re: catch can

Ya I figured some freezing would happen in the bottle so I mounted the hose flanges half way up and the vacuum on top of that. I'm still waiting for the silicone to fully cure and I was staring at the engine bay and some spare parts and came up with another idea to ponder. There's another post iirc ...

Re: catch can

Almost got this thing in use. Read up a bunch on it. I took the stock o ring off the water bottle and put a bead of the pink subaru silicone sealant instead. Figure that should seal and hold up longer than the plastic cap. I also read up about people running into issues with freezing. I figure this ...

catch can

Want to make a homemade catch can. The a/c system is removed and I got a stainless steel water bottle that will fit perfectly where the a/c drier goes. My only concerns is the water bottle has a thick hard plastic screw on cap. I'm gonna replace the o-ring with one that's capable of handle some heat...

Re: Stumble under vacuum and super lean

Sounds like you got a monster vacuum leak. Does it start lean then go rich under boost? What intercooler are you using? I made a tool like this to find my leak. I had the same thing, kept blowing the intercooler off. The silicone 90 degree was badly oil soaked and I didn't have any beads on the pipe...

Re: Stumble under vacuum and super lean

When I did my swap I had a couple bad mafs. I don't know whats up with the wreckers I go to but we've had issues with used mafs out of there constant.
If your lean I'd try cleaning that maf.

Bravo! Hey man I'm a journeyman tech of about 10 years now. I spend a ton of time searching forums for various cars. By far this is the best forum I've seen. Just saying Josh your doing a real good job. Actually last month I used your 5 speed swap sticky, thanks eh. Just one little note on the above...

Re: Legacy won't start! Car is stranded in town!

Ya x2 on coolant temp sensor. Next one I'd try would be the maf. Don't know if this suggestion would be relevant but it sounds similar to an issue I had a few months back. When I was doing my rob tune ej20g swap I had two bad mafs in a row. First one was making the injectors run pig rich. To the poi...
