Mysterious Vacuum Leak
So I have been trying to locate an odd Vacuum leak for a while now. My gauge is reading 10-12 in at idle, when it used to read 18 dead on. It does not fluctuate, nor is my idle affected at all. It does however cause some odd driveability issues. As in it will run perfect one moment then at steady th...

Coil pack options?
I have a 94 Turbo legacy, with the Auto tranny. Anybody know what coil packs from other models will swap over and work properly for me? Mine has just crapped out, and I gotta be on the road in a few days. Any insight would be great, I would ope to find a good junkyard score. (Too bad there are no SS...

Re: What's this?
I think I am all good, now that I am doing the repairs. I got her out of safe mode and now she is pulling hard again. Still a shitty situation to be a part of, hope few others ever have to deal with this kind of crap. Either way I can now focus on some other things in my life. Thanks for the offer t...

Re: What's this?
Thanks for the responses, it was indeed a transmission to chassis ground that they "forgot" to put back on. They are fixing the other stuff, and I found a loose vac line near that vicinity that seemed to be causing the fail safe mode... I think anyway, since it has yet to go back into fail...

What's this?
So I just got my car back from the shop for a transmission rebuild 1994 SS. Upon receiving the car and getting it home to do some other springtime maintenance things I saw a few things that were different. The shop seemed to break a few small clips here and there, broke an exhaust bolt at the turbo ...

Re: Is there a swappable answer?
Thanks guys, I am hunting for any one of those transmissions now. With any luck my bucket of rust will be moving again soon! (Not really that rusty!). Owning a rare car in Vermont is not fun when problems arise.

Is there a swappable answer?
Hey guys, my 2.2T is in T-rouble! I lost 2nd gear, and the transmission is really a whining lately! I need some advice from some of you who may have been in my situation and found a solution. What I have is a 1994 SS, that is an automatic, with 3.9 rear end. I live in Vermont, where there are very f...

Re: what Struts will fit?
So I randomly found a guy in the area with the one strut that was completly busted on mine, from the same type of car (SS). However this is just a quick fix for now. Now that I have bought some time I am looking to replace the entire set at once with new. Thanks for the info though guys.

what Struts will fit?
I have a 94 legacy ss, that needs the front struts replaced asap. The question is that none of the parts stores can get me the parts in my time frame, but have struts for most any other model. Will any of the other model Subarus be a direct replacement, with no modifications needed? Any help would b...

Re: Key won't turn!
Alright I just pulled the covers off and ziptied it back in place (it was really loose as well), and am going to get a key cut to code. If that don't do it I will want that ignition and key you have there CJ. Thanks for the help guys!

Key won't turn!
So after many years of being on the road my 94 SS apparently wants a break. Unfortunatly I still have to get to work and so on. Here is the problem. About a week ago the key began to be fussy about turning in the ignition, although manageable. Thing is that in the past two days it progressed to not ...

Re: 91 Legacy Turbo Steering looseness
Sounds similar to my current problem. Bad struts and a bad lower control arm bushing are my cause. I would suggest checking both on your car!

Do You have the Cam sensor, and or the Aux Purge Valve? If so what would you be looking to get for them?

Re: Rear calipers
No luck on anything remanned around these parts, Subaru claims to have 3 left in the country, and I refuse to downgrade. However I did regrease the piss out of the sliders, and have gone over 100 miles with no issues so far. If it lasts through our hard VT winter then I can deal with the higher pric...

Rear calipers
Anybody know of a cheaper alternative to the Dealers asking price of $300 for a single rear caliper? Its a 94 SS, and I know there must be a cheaper alternative, even if I have to replace both at once. Or, if anybody has a good one they could part with let me know! Winter is here in VT, and a draggi...

Re: 92 legacy SS partout - Updated 5/12/10
It's the small valve in the front left side of the engine, facing the front of the car itself. It connects a Vac line off the canister up front, and the silencer box, while a third line connects to the bottom running to a Tee itself. here is a link to a pic. It is just below the circled Vac line htt...

Re: WANTED: Perrin Lightweight Crank Pulley
I know from previous experiance with a 99 RS, that if you do not have the crankshaft matched to pulley, your engine will fail extremely prematurely. Blew two motors due to this mistake. Perrin makes the pulley, and the crankshaft specially balanced for the setup you are looking for.

Awesome, thanks Josh! So essentially the 02-04 wrx ones. Should have heard the moron at the dealer telling me there was no such bushing. I think they would hire any regular idiot around here. Thanks again!

Does anybody know where I can get the set of steering rack bushings? Nobody has them aroud here, and Subaru says they don't make such a thing. I know there is somebody, even Whiteline's website says they don't have them.

Re: Unerving Vibrations...
Ball joints are new. I think it is finally time for a new rack myself. Probably doesn't help when you hit 65-70 and throw it sideways in snowy yet bumpy roads/lots on a regular basis. I kind of saw this coming, in fact the last snowstorm (about a month ago) I was so frustrated with the car I hit 80 ...

Sorry, when I pull down on the geared portion of the rack, not the housing itself. And the Rack bushings are good, and the bolts are secured! HELP!!

Re: Unerving Vibrations...
Okay, so I think I found what may be the problem, but I need some input. When doing a dry park test, a loud pronounced click/clunking is noticed. It also happens while on a lift. It does it when I turn the wheel to the right and bring it back to the left. (Tie rods are new, inner and outer) When I p...
