Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that your engine should be non-interference so there shouldn't be any damage to the valves.

No waranty, turns out subaru won't warranty parts after 200k miles :D , I suppose I can live with that. I'll definitely look in to the harness. The guys I talked to at the dealer about the O2 sensor both own same generation cars and they recommended the bosch, though they did say ever once in a whil...

Well, the original O2 sensor was toast, heater element burnt out (unusual failure it turns out). I have heard that the Bosch ones work fine, but then again there isn't really any way to test it to find out definitively. I should have just bit the bullet in the beginning and bought the Subaru sensor,...

I think I still have the original O2 sensor laying around here somewhere, the plugs are the ones recommended in the owners manual and on here (NGK V-powers I think?). I did clean the sensor a while back, but I like the idea of going back to the paper filter now. Also the first replacement O2 sensor ...

Another sad fuel economy plea....

I've spent the past several months trying to figure out why my mileage has been dropping to no avail so we'll see if anyone here notices something that I haven't. Original Configuration: 90 L Sedan AWD 5mt. Has racks and with summer tires used to get about 26-28 mpg ish on the highway and ran perfec...

I haven't checked the weep hole. The amount is so small, and so infrequent that when I notice it its only after I park after driving for a while so the coolant seems spread over the bottom of the timing cover making it tough to pinpoint a location. Lately I haven't noticed any seepage, but it has be...

I would recommend holding on to the steering wheel....

Sorry, had to get it out. On a serious note:

-How/who did the alignment on the front end of the car
-Is it always the same, or does the steering pull/drift ever change

dying water pump, or leaky something else?

Starting about 6 months ago I noticed an occasional drip spot under the front of my legacy, not much but noticeable. Looked to be coming from around the timing cover indicating my water pump was on its way out. Odd thing is, 6 months later, same occasional drip, sometimes a little coolant smell and ...

Do you mean series hybrid? Unrelated to FSAE but I've always wanted to get a justy with the cvt and convert it to electric, maybe with a tiny generator onboard.

Its a common problem with groups...of people...with cars. But the good news is your car is designed a bit better than the one that MSU used to have, they used a solid axle in the back. Needless to say it didn't have stellar performance.

My school (university of idaho) has been involved with FSAE for about 9 years now and we run in to different problems than a lot of the bigger schools. We have a very small number of people (usually about 10 max) doing all of the design, manufacture and testing, as well as driving, which means that ...

I guess my option doesn't work then... on a serious note however I would say it depends on what you use your vehicles for. If you like to play around and can't leave well enough alone (like me), then I would say keep the turbo. Otherwise after a few months you'll be itching for a little project and ...

Well, you could:

A. Sell me the turbo really really cheap
B. Sell me the gt really really cheap
C. Sell me both for the price of one really really cheap car.

I like C

Well, went to get the W300's installed today at the local tire shop, but their tire machine slipped and punched a hole in one of the sidewalls. They had special ordered the size for me as it was so they sold me a set of the glacier grips for about $50 cheaper, ended up being about $460 out the door ...

Sooo....I may have this wiring slightly wrong. After some complaints from the passenger I found that the passenger heater was not working, however the seat wiring and elements checked out as okay. After doing some more searching I found this thread on usmb: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showth...

Ya, I was thinkin about that. I read some reviews on the icebears and everyone seemed to say that they were not great deep snow tires but were great in slush, wet and light snow conditions. Around here we pretty much only get a few days of deeper snow, and thats what a 4runner is for anyway :D . For...

I needed some 205 55 16's, which turns out is a little odd and not too common size so my choices were limited. On top of that most of the places around here only carry studded tires, so that limited my options further.

Yep, a "quantity" of 1 is actually a set, they're all the same size though. If you want to come over and take a look at them on the car your welcome to, I'm usually home in the evenings (except tomorrow).

Not sure, didn't measure them. I could have mounted them a bit lower, but found a nice easy index spot on the fender well so I went with that. Also, the back of my car is raised a bit compared to the front. Can you get the universals in two sizes?
