Just a long term follow up. I never had any problems with this sensor or the engine in general since I posted this. I can confidently say this works great.

Regarding the wiring colors in the FSM, they should match the chassis harness wiring, but will not match the wiring of the actual sensor (between the sensor and plug). Did the chassis wiring in your 94 still not match the wiring colors in the 92 ...

lol, Yup that's exactly what I have been doing for far too long. I feel a bit better that I'm not the only one.

Of course the next day after making this post it has been running fine so far. But I have no doubt it will return. I feel I may have checked the starter relay but I can't remember so I'll check again or swap it out. I never thought to check the neutral switch though.
