Re: Compatibility: Old vs "New"
Slight miss below 3k and lack of torque... Are you also having low gas mileage? Have you done (or checked) the plugs and wires? I had the same problem (but a little worse) on a '97 Brighton with 98k miles, and changed the original Subaru plugs and wires out for new NGK ones, the car drove a million ...

Re: FS in WA: 1.5 DIN pocket & EJ20G ECU
Bump!
I have: Two 1.5DIN pockets now! One is tentatively sold, but the other is up for grabs! $20 shipped!
Still got the EJ20G ECU, I will let it go for $110 shipped! Do yourself a RobTune! http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=43744

Re: Compatibility: Old vs "New"
I've never really driven an N/A first gen Legacy so I can't really comment on power, but the second gen ones I owned were all like you describe with the EJ22: lots of low-end torque that kinda just fades away at high RPM. The EJ25 cars I've driven however still have the low-end, but they carry it th...

Que Pasa? Thanks, i love her to death. As far as the squeaking, it helps a bit. I'm going to try to apply it every day for a week or something like that, but in general, it didn't completely get rid of the squeak and it seems to wear out after like 2 weeks. ericem suggested to use the silicone lubr...

Sup Everett buddy? Looks like a clean car you've got there.originalcyn wrote:Silicone Lubricant on the sun roof to try and stop that infernal squeaking noise
Did the Silicon lube stop the squeaking? I am plagued by a couple rubbery-sounding squeaks myself.

'96 Brighton would have been a 5-speed and as such will not have an EGR. I went the other way, I put a '93 Legacy L motor into my '96 Brighton when the headgaskets blew. I just bolted my OBDII intake and sensors to the '93 block and dropped it in. (After taking car of the single vs. dual port exhaus...

If you still have the car, can you pull the trunk lock assembly for me? Let me know how much yo uwould want for that shipped to 98258. That would be the entire assembly that the key fits into, as well as the latch assembly in the center of the trunklid. I do not need the part of the latch that is at...

Re: FS in WA: 1.5 DIN pocket & EJ20G ECU
Thing is, I want it but I don't know if I want it bad enough to spend $20 on something I can get at a junkyard for $5. Kind of picky like that I guess. It's all about time and luck at the junkyard. :) It's $20 to not have to wait and go check all the time for one etc. I didn't want to wait, so I la...

Subaru and Camaro go well together in my experience. Glad to see someone appreciates a little American iron. The Camaro has always been my first love, and Subaru just makes sense to drive every day for a guy in the good old Pacific NW!

'94 SS Daily Driver
Performance modded already when I got it, turbo, injectors, intercooler, ECU. it's plenty fast for a daily driver, but the appearance was somewhat lacking. Looks pretty stock and well-worn to me. http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt356/alphius1337/94%20Turbo%20Leg/DSC_0029.jpg Now with modded grill...

FS in WA: EJ20G ECU
Located near Everett WA. I bought an EJ20G ECU because I was planning on getting a RobTune, then I found that my RevTronix issues all seemed to be caused by a mis-adjusted TPS. My car is now running like a dream, so I'm selling the EJ20G ECU. It is marked "V5" on the sticker, so was origin...

You might not want to spend that much, but I grew tired of trying to find one and laid down the cash. Well worth it, that little gap bugged me to no end.

Re: Install Apexi AVCR
You can either leave the factory BCS plugged in and not hooked up to any vacuum, or you can get a "dropping resistor" from any Auto 1st gen Legacy (located on front passenger strut tower) and plug it in to the BCS plug. It has the same connector and plugs right in and gets rid of the CEL. ...

Re: Power level for stock WRX clutch
For anyone interested, the clutch pedal adjustment rod was adjusted incorrectly and was putting a small amount of pressure on the clutch while driving with your foot off the pedal. This is what caused the slippage. Since I have adjusted it correctly, my clutch is happy as a clam at 17psi. No problem...
