EJ22 automatic ECU vs. 5 speed ECu from the the same model year.

My ECU needs to be changed out and I am able to source only auto ECUs at the moment.
I remember reading somewhere that I can convert an auto ECU to a 5 speed ECU. Is it possible and what does it entail? help out a noob

If this is a 5 speed I need the ECU for my swap.

Have a set of cloth seats from a BG wagon, Believe will swap over to 93-01 Impreza and 89-2000 Legacies. Have the rears too. No rips or tears but they are used and could use some cleaning. No stains either. Need to clear some garage space. I have the rear seats too will have a pic of the rears soon....
