Re: Oh geez, it was inevitable
Lol, yeah pretty much. It had the Cheapest tires I could buy on the stock rims and stock everything else, could flick it into some all wheel drifts which surprised me. But since the trackday I installed the whiteline alk, rack bushings, and rear gr2's, car is much better, will still benefit from som...

Possibly, its not something you would want to do to repair broken or torn mounts.kimokalihi wrote:I've heard that it doesn't last. At least not for motor mounts.

Re: Rear diff dogboneish mount - worth replacing?
You would just remove the bushings and fill with window weld around the hollow bolt pins. No, don't remove any material. There are large gaps to fill in already. https://ci6.googleusercontent.com/proxy/Y6GxKakTW4ex8JHs8dVN7G0wxFXqEKLufduU_ajqczsxIGNI_HKK-a3W_H-9_KD0TAzHw7Tw1DSuDTsCTnIUxBMsj2c6xRbmO...

Re: Rear diff dogboneish mount - worth replacing?
Its 4 bolts a a bit of prying, easy to do, I filled mine with windshield urethane and let it cure for a few days since I had a spare.

My dealer had access when I called but I found a good used fender from someone in town, I'll sandblast it and fix one small ding and it will be good.

Re: Small experiment in doubling sway bars.
It took me 20mins some scrap and $4 in u-bolts and was completely reversible. And I have since installed new gr2's in the rear and removed the second bar. It was a lot stiffer and did increase oversteer nicely but for cruising around it did feel slightly off balance because you could feel the front ...

Nope, no binding, looks janky, but works well.James614 wrote:Seems like it would bind on compression and make the ride much firmer.

Re: Greasing the throwout bearing the hard way.
Put a paint can cap over the rear output of the trans.
If it where me, I would just pull the motor, then your just out some coolant, which can be caught in a clean bucket and strained before re-using.
