Why are you driving around in 2nd gear? Make sure you have 4 tires that are the same size, and pretty even tread. Also be sure the air pressure is the same. I was testing the gears at school. I'm in transmission class & not many instructors there know about Subaru transmissions. Air pressure is...
Trying replacing the tranny fluid. Measure how much comes out to be safe. Should require 4qts or so.
Inspecting the tranny fluid was my first instinct & it's still pretty bright red. I'm just trying to figure out if I should be worried or not. I've read in a lot...

Quick transmission question.

I've noticed that I get a TQ bind only in 2nd gear of my 97 Legacy L. Is this the switchover to 4wd lock? I'm assuming that it is since I can think of no other reason. If it is, how do I get ahold of it so that I can use that fucntion on drive (if that's even possible?)

Well here is the thing...

Why buy an SUS to drop it? Just like the two-tone and the bumper? The bumper can be swapped to an L. Well, I had already bought an OB bumper for my L but I had to make small enhancements to it to make it fit. I also dislike 2 tone so I'd buy an SUS to drop it & modify it like most guys do to th...

I like the SUS & I'd definitely drop it to match my Volvo's height (it's pretty low). I've seen a few on Craigslist & I missed my chance to grab the one being sold in Hartford for $800. That one had no body damage/good engine/good transmission & was @ 230k miles. Now the only one up is a...

I've wanted my own personal car now & I know that something old needs to be sacrificed in order to gain something new. I've wanted another Subaru for a while & I'm a fan of the BD style Legacy body style so a GT or SUS is on my list of prey. Here is what will be sold for the purchase: My Vol...
i like! not diggin the cannon tho, how does it sound with equal length plus that cannon?
Well, to be honest, it sounded 'unbalanced' & a bit too loud, even with the silencer on. it was stolen when I was on vacation in Vermont w/my wife. The catalytic conver...

Doubts about NGK plugs, no offense.

"The correct spark plugs to use in Subaru engines are NGK V-Powers, part no. BKR6E11 for the EJ22" - I'm not going to sit here & say all of NGK is bad but I bought some plugs about 3 weeks ago & I started to notice a bit of power loss higher up in the rpm & I checked my vacuum ...
