WTB: Anyone parting out a Legacy in Florida?

I'm looking for some gray interior pieces to bring my car back to being pretty again, but I cant afford shipping on door cards and stuff. If anyone is parting out a Legacy near Central-ish Florida let me know. I can drive an hour or two from Lakeland to buy stuff, but that's about as far as I'd pref...

Higher-capacity blower motor?

Has anyone tried putting a higher-capacity blower motor on their legacy? The AC works okay, but it could definitely blow a bit stronger. It's pretty hot here in Florida

Re: WTB: 1990-91 Passenger side fender corner light (running

The clear lens on the front split a bit after the ABS housing expanded while trying to put a screw into a metal tab I formed. It probably would have been fine had I drilled a bigger pilot hole and used a slightly smaller screw, but I gave up and bought one on ebay. This thread can be deleted if you ...

Re: Air control unit broken and can't find replacement

Well, my woman asked if maybe the arm wasn't returning all the way to the coldest position and sure enough I just left too much slack in the cable's connection/disconnection point under the glove box. The little gold bracket has a groove that it fits into that I just missed. I ended up getting caugh...

I think I'm gonna try a few more things to fix the tab on this one
and if I cant get it I'll buy a new one.

Re: WTB: 1990-91 Passenger side fender turn signal

Oh, sorry. I just meant the ones on the front of the fenders, not on the sides. The rounded clear ones with the orange squares inside of them. I think they may just be running lights. I know mine work as turn signals, but that may be something I did to it years ago and dont remember.

I need the passenger side turn signal that goes on the fender for a 90-91. If anyone has one for sale let me know. Thanks!

How did you find them on there?

Re: Air control unit broken and can't find replacement

So I went ahead and took mine all apart and soldered all the connection points to the plug and the buttons all now work, but it doesn't feel like it's as cold as it was before. The air before would kick on and off randomly (fixed by hitting the dash most of the time) and it would blow strong sometim...

Re: Fuel tank rust

I figured it may be, but it seems like a lot of extra work for for Subaru to design two different tanks. Never seen the FWD tank though. And yeah, I've seen them do it a lot. Some actually try and drain and resell the tank though...them's my peeps. Well...that's a lot of crap to remove. It's been ra...

Re: Fuel tank rust

Right now we have the vehicle running again off of a 5-gallon bucket connected to a fuel pump and some hoses running as feed, return and vent lines. It works, but I called 31 junk yards yesterday and only one of them had a Legacy and couldn't tell me if it had the fuel tank and it's less than close....

Re: Fuel tank rust

I've noticed they use either muriatic acid or vinegar and then
line it with Por-15, but I don't know how I'd be able to re-coat
the inside of a funky shaped fuel tank like we have.

Were they all metal or was their any years they used plastic?
I forgot to mention this was on a '94 Legacy. They're kind of
hard to find at the junk yard around here. Is there anywhere that
still sells them new?

Fuel tank rust

So, my friend and I finally put my old Legacy back together the other day and I had to leave before it was ready to be fired up. He said there's rust in the fuel tank. It's sat for a few years at this point. Anyone know if the tank is metal or plastic? If it's plastic what's the best way to clean it...

Oiling an AC compressor

Ok, so on my wife's 98 Forester I decided to put new freon in. The compressor sounds a little whiny, I guess would be the way to say it. I've had the freon evacuated and currently it's sitting at a vacuum. The system had a small leak before due to a bolt not being fully tightened, I suppose because ...

Re: Forester Maintenance Questions

I think I figured it out. The bearing seal is recessed into the
roller on single row. I think front and back side. Either way,
the double row bearings come out to the end of the roller on
both sides. Probably.

Re: Forester Maintenance Questions

Thanks. I'll be getting that o-ring. The crossover pipe on the top of the engine? Do those have leaking issues often? Yeah, I called up to Subaru the other day about that filter kit. I had gotten it for my Legacy at $25 a few year ago. They told me they no longer sell that kit and that they'd have t...

Re: Forester Maintenance Questions

Dang. A lot of good advice. Thanks a lot, guys. This really helps :D I hadn't planned on resealing the oil pump unless it was leaking since mine has never leaked on either of my Legacy's, but an o-ring is really cheap so no problem with that. I'll be pulling the oil pan. Planned to run some of that ...
