Re: SS swap into 95 Impreza LX

And yeah, the 95 pinout is quite a bit different than the 97 pinout I have. Thanks again Josh.

Re: SS swap into 95 Impreza LX

TD, the pins are different between the Legacy and Impreza. The Legacy uses two different sizes, big and small, the Impreza uses a bigger one but is different shaped and won't fit into the Legacy male plug. I tried that before making my jumper harness. I ended up getting a extra 95 Impreza ecu, then ...

Re: SS swap into 95 Impreza LX

Thats exactly what i made and for the labor involved, i can totally understand it being that price. The first one I ever made took 5 hours but I've made two more since then and can do it in 2-3 hrs which sounds long but its hard to solder the wires to the metal pins when the pins are so close to eac...

Re: SS swap into 95 Impreza LX

Yeah, its an auto but that is definately going bye bye. I'm using an 02 forester 5mt which is nice since the LXs were 4.11s so no need to change rear diff. I bought the SS chasis from Damien that he used the drivetrain for his swap into his 95 Legacy. The unibody turned out to be bent so I am stripp...

Re: SS swap into 95 Impreza LX

Alright, thanks Josh, that helps. as for the engine harness, i only noticed the tps connector as being different. The maf, knock, injectors, crank and cam sensors, water temp, iac valve are all the same. The tps uses a 3 pin connector though. i haven't decided weather i'm using my ej22t or the ej20h...

Re: SS swap into 95 Impreza LX

It is definately an OBD 2 car. I guess the LXs were the only ones to get the OBD 2 in 95. It would be a little easier doing this if it was obd 1 but oh well. One of my reasons behind doing the jumper harness is; if in the future I want to sell the car, it would be much easier to return the car to st...

SS swap into 95 Impreza LX

So, i bought a 95 Impreza from work a month ago for an unbeatable price. The car is pretty nice, straight but clear coat is peeling off. I already had my swap planned out before I bought it. I have an extra EJ22t that I'm putting in it . It will be running the 550s, TD05, with my Robtune. My questio...

Re: EJ22T possible intake manifold rotation.

I didn't see that you were deleting the ps pump the first time I read, if you put the alternator where the ps pump goes, you shouldn't have the clearence issues I experienced. I had though about swapping the ps pump to the ac location and the alternator to the ps pump location but decided not to as ...

Re: EJ22T possible intake manifold rotation.

Also, the throttle cable reached just fine without changing it. If you want to keep the bumper renforcement, you'll either need a wide, short intercooler to sit under it which will end up being small or trim the inside of it. I trimmed mine on my first turbo legacy and it fit nicely but I didn't eve...

Re: EJ22T possible intake manifold rotation.

I tried doing this with my new build and I tried everything to make it work, I moved the alternator to the ac spot, used a newer aluminum alternator/ac bracket and trimmed down parts of it to make more clearence, tried with and without my phenolic spacers on, and I still could not get it to fit. The...

Re: GT wagon change of heart

Before I got my wagon, my wife was against it, she thought they were ugly. Now that I've had it for 3 years, its HERS now, she took it over. I tried giving her one of the sedans and she still wanted to stick with the wagon. It will grow on them once they understand the versatility and advantages ove...

I ran into this same problem having the 02 Forester tranny in my car. I had to do the same thing but the crappy tap/die set I had from Harbor Freight sucked and it was a pain getting the thing to stay straight.

Re: Dash lighting help

Yes, I checked all the fuse box plugs and they were all plugged in snugly. I swapped fuse boxes also to see if that changed anything but it did not. I then switched in another Illumination control module and now the HVAC controls light up but still no dash lights, weird thing though, at first only h...

Re: Rear axles don't want to spin

Today I ran the car through first gear while up on the jackstands still, shut the car off, then checked the rear hoping that maybe the clutches in the center diff are just stuck from the tranny sitting on a shelf for so long or something. Well, then I tried spinning a rear wheel by hand and now when...

I just wanted to throw this is cuz i was so impresses. With my robtune, using the launch control, I'm building 10lbs of boost at a stand still. My downpipe is open right now as I'm doing some work on the tranny and it sounds unreal almost as it has antilag.

Re: Rear axles don't want to spin

Here is another thing, when I had the first rear diff in, I would spin a front wheel with the trans in neutral, and the rear would spin with it. Now, with the rear diff I swapped in the other night, I spin the front and the rear doesn't spin weather it's in neutral or in gear. I know this diff is op...
