Re: 1990 Legacy Full Stage Rally Car $10k

So after a few PM's and emails about the price being to high for what it is. I have dropped the price to $10K OBO as I don't have the luxury of time on my side to wait.

2016 Rally Sprint Rules -posted 12/14/15

Although side-by-side competition is not allowed, more than one vehicle may be on cour...

Re: 1991 diffs and transmission fluid change

wow, pretty low miles. But fluid also degrades over time, not just from miles. Sounds like a Duty C solenoid going out. Search "duty c solenoid" and see if that sounds like the same symptoms you have. *edit* This is a thread I started 4 years ago about this problem I had with my car. There...

Re: 1991 diffs and transmission fluid change

How many miles are on your car? For your sake, I hope that the fluid is not original. Honestly, if its making noise already then the damage has already been done. Changing fluid may help longevity but its just a matter of time before it pushes up daisys. When you say it feels like it wants to stop t...

Re: TurnNBurn's 1990 Subaru Legacy L 2.2 open light rally ca

I could if I swapped over the whole cam assembly, but my Delta cam will not work with the manual adjusters. And I wouldn't mind swapping over the single port heads because I have read a few threads that they have a 2cm smaller combustion chamber, so a tiny bump in compression (which I probably would...

Re: TurnNBurn's 1990 Subaru Legacy L 2.2 open light rally ca

so when going through the heads to see how/what got damaged, I found that EVERY single HLA in both heads are stuck in the compressed position... I pulled one out and cleaned it with brake clean and took compressed air to it and the little piston popped back to its normal position. it was a little st...

Re: TurnNBurn's 1990 Subaru Legacy L 2.2 open light rally ca

got the short block situated. unfortunately my spare heads are single exhaust port... I wouldn't mind switching because apparently they flow better from threads that I have read, but I don't have the manifolds that go with them. hopefully the old heads didn't get banged up when the piston let go. Th...

Re: Legacys in the media

what are you guys using to get screen shots from videos?

In the A&E show, Longmire, there is a post face lift first gen maroon wagon that they must have been using as a filler car because it is in a lot of episodes, especially the first 2 seasons.

I have had a spare 2.2 long block laying around in my garage for 4 years now. Now I finally need it for something more then stealing parts from. I am not doing anything fancy this time with the rebuild. Im just trying to get the rally car back up and running. Split the block and spent the last few d...

^^^^What he said

try unplugging the O2 sensor. the ECU will default the signal into a rich mode, somewhere around 15:1 . If it changes substantially then you are probably on the right track.

Re: Aftermarket exhaust for 93 turbo Legacy

In my opinion if you have a small budget the ebay down pipe route is a good choice. Knowing before you go into it that you are going to have to modify the DP to fit properly. And depending on exhaust shops around where you live, have a custom DP back exhaust made up with whatever muffler you want. I...

you wouldnt actually gain horsepower but you would notice a difference if your filter was original 200k mile filter and was clogged up and or otherwise degraded to the point it was causing you problems. by replacing it, you are inadvertently (or on purpose) fixing a problem your car had because of t...

A mazda protégé turbo BPV fits, I had an after market one that was labeled for that car. And im 99% sure a Nissan Juke BPV would also fit just by the way it looks and the bolt spacing but I have not tried bolting it to a TMIC to know for sure. just throwing it out there.

well if your not turning the steering wheel its definitely not what I said then. And it only does it when you are turned? Just for curiosity, try taking the power steering drive belt off and see if it makes that noise when the pump is not running. *watching the video again made me think that somethi...
