Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo

Did you change anything with the caster? Was it like that before you did the work? It sounds like the fuel lines on top of the tank may be leaking....that or the tank itself. You can try removing the plastic covers to see if you can see where it's coming from. The caster must have been fine before ...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo

I am thinking the kink made the fuel go down the vapor return and then leaked out the "valve". I think that kink is causing a vapor lock in the filler hose or the other lines on my filler neck just won't work with the 02 tank. The caster is definitely off even though it does look still pos...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo

Mixed reviews today, the good news is that I got the rack all done and new tie rods. The rack works great after bleeding the air out and Sex Panther is not back on the ground and parked out front. http://i690.photobucket.com/albums/vv269/XiseTK/temporary_zpsa9113e83.jpg http://i690.photobucket.com/a...

The RS is up on the rack, while today after this mindless "Internet and Society" class I will be putting a rack into the legacy :)

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo

it's because I am using a 2002 STi gas tank, I am happy to report the sending unit works with the SS fuel gauge. I have access to a 1998 RS also, and some EJ25D heads....got some options to play with. I also might be trading my spare EJ22T for a VF39, STi injectors maybe an STi intercooler, STi head...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo

So got Sex Panther back on the road today and it is looking nice, coilovers are not set very low so I don't scrape coming out of my steep driveway. http://i690.photobucket.com/albums/vv269/XiseTK/temporary_zps02f10f6b.jpg I took it down the road and tried to fill it with some 93 octane....and the pu...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo

Not sure how I am going to watch it considering where it is lol, hopefully it will hold up. Filled it with a few gallons and that went fine, was getting in there faster than I could pour it so it should be fine at the pump. After initially hooking up the delivery line wrong I got sprayed with gas bu...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo

It was really tough to get that hose on that far but I might be able to force it on a bit more. Are you sure that the vapor hose will deteriorate? fuel shouldn't be going directly through it ever...I thought the vapors would be fine going through there without swelling it all up. I'll try to twist i...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo

Had to get some hoses from various parts stores today, I couldn't find the diameter of vapor hose anywhere so I used a heater hose for that...hopefully it will work and not eat it up... I am however worried a bit about the filler neck hose I bought...it was kind of rigid and it kinked a little bit, ...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo

I thought it was odd also because I don't think my RS has that sensor, this is from an 02 STi though so who knows what sensors they use. I just hope the tank fills without any issues, gotta find a filler hose that will work though the filler neck and the port on the tank are different diameters but ...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo

Finally got a chance to get back to it, if only for a few hours. Cut that old trailing arm bracket off as the last bolt was impossible to get out and not harm the bracket. I was able to use a telescoping magnet to get the old capture nuts out through these convenient little access holes that I poppe...

sounds like you are having ALL of the same issues from when I got mine running again, speedo most like what Josh said about the speed cable adapter on the trans end OR it is a short cable (much shorter than the MT one) so it could have just popped loose from the back of the gauge cluster. did you ch...

Fuel Tank questions

Ok so I had a leaky tank, lines, broken strap etc so I decided it was time to replace the tank, so I grab an 02 STi tank seeing how it comes with the sending unit and pump in place, as it was only $65..can't go wrong right? I do need to order some straps for it and was wondering if any other straps ...

very nice xise... car has come along way. Thanks Mark...it has been quite the journey indeed... You should black out the chrome. Re: BCS took a crap, looking for a good control solenoid, su

The BCS controls exactly that dude, it looks for a target pressure (7Psi) and then it applies vacuum to the diaphragm to the wastegate which opens the flapper letting any pressure past 7psi flow into the exhaust. If that solenoid takes a crap it never tells the wastegate to open and you get max pres...
