Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Lol yeah, I try...I would hate to send it to the bone yard after all the work I did resurrecting it.....the first time.... Now the decision lies in if this will be a ghetto drifter or a rally x car, decision decisions. Either way next step after doors is to rehab either the v7 sti struts or the twin...

I got to use a pretty awesome tool I never used before, porta-power. It is like a hydraulic rod that extends and can be used for various things....including frame straightening!!!! http://i690.photobucket.com/albums/vv269/XiseTK/temporary_zps3b60344a.jpg http://i690.photobucket.com/albums/vv269/Xise...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
So the new Legacy is insured and getting registered, my wife named it Artemis after some cat from sailor moon...apparently it is white....whatev...lol Anyway some donor parts are being pilfered from Sex Panther, but after that I can really do whatever I want with it, my plan is to strip it down to b...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Yeah next time I am going the legal route, this is the second time we got hose for an accident that wasn't out fault, at least less than 50% which is what matters... Never fear though, Sex Panther is still alive, drives straight as an arrow still, just got bent up a bit but I can fix it enough to be...

Re: sti struts+springs question
They were ok for a while bit those washers seem to have worn down and are clunking again :( I am trying a new combo entirely, I am going to be using 04 STi springs and trying the 90-91 legacy rear strut mounts. So I should be looking for a spring perch with the top mount built in? I just want to buy...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
I have done it in the past prior to this issue and had a code for the BCS, which still exists and I just plumbed in my own Electronic BCS and left the original in it's connector. I haven't checked since though and have been meaning to, I will report what I find when I have time.

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Thanks man. Wiring is quite frustrating. I have the diagrams for the 2002 WRX and the 1992 Legacy. I have the WRX tank with the WRX fuel pump and sender using the Legacy AWD harness on it. I'm going dizzy looking at these diagrams. I will paypal you $20 (or anyone else for that matter) that can mak...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
good luck, remember wen you are wiring the sending unit it has to go through BOTH resistors or it will read 1/2 full on an almost empty tank...made me think I was getting tremendously awesome gas mileage when I went to NH lol.

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
So now I am only boosting to 5psi? Like it is in limp mode for some reason.....checked the vacuum lines from the wastegate and the BCS, nothing looks to be broken/leaking but I replaced the actuator line anyway and no dice. Not sure what would cause it to just not boost fully anymore, does the ECU h...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
I had them on paper a while ago and traced out the wires I needed with a highlighter. I am sure someone here could get you an ss wiring diagram, and you need to know the exact model the tank came from for the fuel pump/sending unit pinout.

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
I believe that small hose, #1 as you have it labeled had a small vent solenoid attached to it if I remember correctly, it has an electrical plug and the other end went to a rear mounted charcoal canister that the GD chassis uses, you can literally leave it as it is, this is the hose that causes mine...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
I have no prob getting the cable back in, I used a small cats paw pry bar to hold the connector end in place and pushed the cluster on to the cable itself, it was still a pain in the ass but after I took the cluster off the 3rd time I got everything connected in only a few minutes. You pry on the wi...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
I think we actually have some cable lube we use on the flatbeds at work, maybe i'll try some of that...I hate removing that cable though, it has barely enough slack to reach the cluster while my hand is crushed between the cluster and dash. I am going to look at one of those dohc swap threads so I c...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Normally I wouldn't, but it is incredibly loud and I am not a morning person with a longish commute to work lol. My first thought was that it was the cable, I am going to be switching to a newer model 5MT soon so does the cable gear even fit the VSS in the newer transmissions? I was planning to grab...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Thanks :) I am actually thinking of stripping everything down and fixing the unibody, and rocker panels and holes in the floorboards etc. I want to actually have some pinch welds I could put the car on the lift with. Also I am getting a REALLY strange whirring/buzzing noise when I drive the car cold...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Ok then, just wondering if they were part of the system. Since they aren't I really have no explanation for why power to the rear wheels has been weak......oh well I won't have this 4EAT for all that much longer anyway. I guess maybe the clutch packs are worn out...other than that I have no idea.

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
I decided now was as good a time as any to finally stop procrastinating and wire up my 50/50 AWD split switch. Since my AWD to the rear has been weak, assuming that since there are no ABS sensors for the rear tjhe TCU does not know the speed of the rear wheels and never tries to send anything over 1...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Seems like ever since I removed my rear ABS sensors my AWD is almost no existent. Does the 4EAT depend on the real wheelspeed sensors for the rear to have power?

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
No, I don't know the gear ratios off the top of my head. Are you wanting the individual gear ratios or final drive ratio? Well if you knew one you'd know the other for those Legacies. I just wanted to know because I wanted to use that 3.90 vlsd with the 5spd trans I was going to pick up. Otherwise ...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Yeah it seemed a bit desolate over here for some reason. Figured i'd mention that I found a full 5 speed swap, actually a few of them from a 2000 legacy wagon and a 98 outback, at my work tucked into the back. I just never knew they were there /facepalm. Do you know the gear ratios off the top of yo...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Aaaaaaand my Impreza is leaking oil now :( I had to move it off the street because my reg had expired and it left a nice oil trail all around the block....great. In other news, I traded the truck for this little guy :) http://i690.photobucket.com/albums/vv269/XiseTK/2013-10-05173553_zpsa1611708.jpg ...
