Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Yeah I will probably will end up re routing it, but it works for now so it's fine. Finally finished everything except the AOS I was going to use. Everything is finished except I could no longer fit the oem airbox so I am going to grab a MAF adapter and a really short filter like the HKS one and use ...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Actually got some stuff done today! Got my TMIC pipe made and it fits. Not sure how well it will hold boost yet. I made it from part of the charge pipe and part of the stock plastic 07 wrx y pipe, Cut the charge pipe and tossed aside the BPV, cut the elbow off the 07 oem y pipe and fitted them toget...

Re: 06 STI Intercooler
I can confirm this also the pitch mount and the firewall directly above seem to interfere with the rear of the intercooler tank. Anyone that went dohc if you could measure the distance from the firewall to the end of the throttle body inlet that would give us an idea of wether it would work if using...

Re: Twin Turbo Intercooler Kit
People always talked smack about how the EJ20H and EJ20R were terrible and that Suabru TT setup sucks, this that and the other thing. I just think that there is huge potential there for awesomeness and no one that really had any vision ever got ahold of one to tune it right, or just lacked the funds...

Re: 06/07 WRX Intercooler Install Questions
I am also doing this as we speak, so someone found a brand that fits the 06-07 wrx intercooler fine, I bought one also that was labeled as 02-05 wrx and the straight silicone piece that connects the legs together fits not perfect and looks somewhat mashed into place with the tclamps on it. Others ha...

Air Conditioning Conundrum.
So I was getting all set to re-install a previously deleted AC system, bought a new receiver/dryer and took my relocated coolant tank an stuffed it back to the factory location for now. Installed the AC compressor and the lines to the condenser, and I realized the compressor -> Condenser line does n...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Yeah they are a bit price but look cool. I did see one that was made by maybe a member here selling for $55 and was a small circuit board with 2 leds to say when it had power and when it was active...mounted inside a radioshack AA battery holder. But I like the looks of the HKS brand fcd and it fits...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Thanks man, I try to do things as professionally as possible with what I have. I heat shrink all the wire systems and color code my own wiring so at least I know what's what. Got some more things done, wired in my ECBS and set a low boost setting of 8 and a high of 15 psi. It also has settings for &...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Got a few things done today, wired the Wideband guage and the ECBS. That will all be fully done after I reassembly the dashboard, still gotta mount the ECBS control unit somwhere, probably under the radio in place of the CD holder. http://i690.photobucket.com/albums/vv269/XiseTK/temporary_zpsee2025b...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Still haven't gotten around to fixing my fuel filling issue, although I was able to get a length of garden hose all the way inside the tank itself, so I am wondering if the kinked nappa fuel hose is really the problem or not....I managed to connect every hose on the filler to the tank, I am wonderin...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Right side feed my mistake, the yellow ones damnit! lol I actually forgot to put the plastic chrome 3 prong thing in the first time and had to take the cover off, i'll have to try it both ways. I am missing 2 of the tiny allen bolts though. Have to hind down replacements I guess or the seal won't be...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Well since I am going to have to order a new alternator and have some down time waiting I was thinking of doing the intercooler now as well as relocate the coolant resovoir and make an intake. http://i690.photobucket.com/albums/vv269/XiseTK/temporary_zpsd9de221c.jpg http://i690.photobucket.com/album...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
I went to pepboys for convenience, they had one in stock. The old one couldn't charge enough and this new one is lazy sometimes and then seemingly, whenever it feels like it, makes up for being lazy and charges extra hard.....very weird stuff. Not sure why this stuff always happens to me...lol. Oh we...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
not sure why though, must be something causing it to go bad. My previous alternator was doing the same thing, well almost. This one "behaves" most of the time, just will randomly undercharge or overcharge based on seemingly nothing....what controls the field coil in the alternator? The ECU...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Finished my LSD today, can't wait to install this bad boy. For anyone that has done this before you know how much of a pain in the ass it really is. There was a mathematical formula in the FSM to set the bearing preload for the retainers using different sized shims...here is my impromptu worksheet. ...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
....This isn't a complex circuit by any means but I should see more than .5-2 amps when reving the motor.. I don't think it's the fusible link. How are you checking the amps when revving the motor? I checked amperage in a few places, using an inductive clamp I checked each wire coming from the volt...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Could a fusilble link cause a no/low charge issue? I checked it for continuity and it was fine but maybe it burned up most of the wire and is hanging by a thread and I just can't tell? All the wiring is fine, the underdash fuses are fine. This isn't a complex circuit by any means but I should see mo...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Just take the sti struts apart and grease them, it takes 15 minutes..... When you drove on them were there any signs of them being bad besides the clunk? Not really, everything I was feeling was psychosomatic, I plugged my ears while driving and all seemed well. Not really harsh or anything like th...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Yeah I had to watch 2nd quarter students do my alignment to my horror one of the kids had and oxy torch on my inner tie rod threads trying to break loose the lock nut. I had to yell at him and tell him that you ONLY put the flame on the nut, expanding the threads on a tie rod will ruin it and make t...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
Well it still was tight after the alignment, but I noticed that the not returning to center was because of an issue with the power steering. I had too much fluid in the reservoir and it was causing the rack not to bleed. Took a while and all the air still might not be out but it is way better than i...

Re: Xise's 1993 Legacy Turbo
I didn't do anything to change the caster on purpose. I fitted all stock oem parts cxcept for the coilovers. Aside from the swaybars, everything is impreza fitment wise. Caster adjustment requires an eccentric bushing to be pressed into the control arm....I am not doing that. It should go back to a ...
