Re: having trouble clearing ECU codes..
In my experience with CEL codes, you should not have to clear the codes if everything is working correctly, the codes should go away automatically. When I did my o2 sensor, coolant temp sensor, knock sensor, purge solenoid, all the CELs for those problem went away when they were replaced, and have n...

Re: Intake Manifold Removal and Installation
Personally, I would maybe throw in some braided fuel lines. Those damned metal fuel lines are such a PITA to get on and off the manifold, so I would get some braided lines and hook up some new fuel delivery. I haven't done this to my car, but I have seen it done on others and if I ever have to remov...

Re: Crank no start
When my ignition system was failing, it was a bad ECU ground on the engine. Drivers side right next to the rocker cover. The ground was loose, and the bolt that held it down would not bolt in all the way so I moved the ground and it fixed my problem.

Re: Valve cover gasket
This is a fairly easy job, and I would suggest doing it even with your lack of automotive knowledge, it is very simple. I have some part numbers here for you, you will need (2) Rocker Gaskets #13294AA011 and (6) Washer Rocker Grommets #13271AA051. 1 Rocker Gasket for each side, and 3 grommets on eac...

Re: May have the chance to get a B4 RSK
As APEX said, you might not be able to get the car legalized. Other than that it is a very good find, but I do not believe that JDM cars come with emissions reduction stuff, so if you want to get everything registered and whatnot, you might have to get some emissions controlling stuff like a catalyt...

I just sawed off the metal mesh part of my MAF and clamped a 3" cone on it, and I have yet to have a problem.

Re: 94 Legacy L auto cai issues....
I read somewhere that this is caused because the snorkus is removed. With the snorkus removed, the intake is vulnerable to irregular resonance up to 1,800 rpms at WOT, because the function of the snorkus is to shield out that resonance. With that resonance the MAF overestimates the amount of air ent...

Re: What are your 1/4 mile times?
Just went up to Lebanon Valley Dragway with my dad, I took my 1993 Subaru Legacy L Sedan 5 speed FWD and he took his Ram 3500 Megacab. My best run was 17.466 seconds @ 81.23 mph. That was half a second faster than my old FWD legacy wagon. My dad's best run was like 12.1 seconds @ 115 mph with his 7...

Re: Most random thing ive ever seen
Well if you own a 1st generation legacy, then the speedometer and odometer is ran by a mechanical cable. If you pop the gauge cluster out you will know what I am talking about. It is possible that it might have gotten loose and popped out. If it did pop out, just line things up, and you can snap it ...

Look on NASIOC, I knew a few guys who were parting out their SSs with complete harnesses and other various SS parts. sense of nature on NASIOC was trying to sell a SS harness, I don't know if he has yet, but you can check.

Re: Idle Problem 1994 Subaru Legacy
This is where I relocated the ECU ground.
It is on the intake manifold, bolted to the vacuum hose bracket. The car runs fine with it here so this will be the ground. Problem solved

Re: Idle Problem 1994 Subaru Legacy
Yes I have a multimeter and I know how to use it, but I think 777 and vrg got it. VRG, when I checked out the ground that you were talking about, to my suprise, IT WAS LOOSE!!!! I attempted to tighten the bolt that was holding it down but it was as tight as it got! I then grounded that ECU ground to...

Re: 1993 Legacy LS Knock and Ping
Haha, no the first generation legacys do not have an EGR. Trust me, I was looking for an EGR on mine and couldn't find it. All the first gens have are charcoal canisters which just extract leftover gas from the engine when it is not running, then puts the gas back through the fuel pump when it is ru...

Re: 07Evolved's '91 Wagon 5MT N/A - EJ22T/EJ20G Swap
Very nice so far. Don't worry, I tore apart my first Subaru engine last year when I was 17, and hardly knew what I was doing. But when I dropped my engine in everything ran good. It was a lot of fun and you learn a lot. I hope to get my hands on an EJ22T soon, but with school and work, I don't think...

Re: Idle Problem 1994 Subaru Legacy
3. When I bought the car, the shielding wire that surround the wire going to the knock sensor was just out in the open. The car ran good for 800 miles, then my spark was lost. When my car was without spark, I grounded that wire to the transmission and I got my spark back. Here is a video of what I a...

Re: Idle Problem 1994 Subaru Legacy
OK, at this point I am beginning to lose all hope with my car. It was driving wonderfully last night, and when I went to start it up this morning, it was extremely difficult to start. I did have a grounding issue which was fixed, and it was like that grounding problem came up again. A couple months ...

Re: Idle Problem 1994 Subaru Legacy
Just today I got a new charcoal canister because Subaru looked into the code history and said I had 1 for the IACV, and 1 for the charcoal canister. I put in the new canister AND the stock airbox back on and now the car runs fine. I just have to wait and see if the problem comes up again. Most of th...

Idle Problem 1994 Subaru Legacy
Ok, so here it goes. I recently rebuilt my EJ22E. After the rebuild the car ran very well for 800 miles, then I had a bad ground that would disable spark, but I fixed that. Now the car cannot idle to save it's life. I am getting code 24 for the IACV, but I replaced that and I am still getting the co...

Re: NA Engine Control Unit tuning and Diagnostics
hey, I was just wondering if you have finished this product yet? I am very interested because I have an idle problem that I cannot figure out, and it would be very easy to pinpoint if I had a datalogger like this. I was looking at the B10 scan tool, but your tool seems a lot better and has a lot mor...
