C&D Article on the new FB engine

Umm, the injectors going into the head before the intake valve would be normal port fuel injection...direct injection would usually require a piston that had a secondary dished surface creating a pool and swirl in the combustion chamber...looking at this would determine that Subaru boxer engine unfo...

Re: Downpipe ?'s

Josh, just did research on the CES unit of yours. did you get the full system or just the downpipe? Does the downpipe have the cat built in it, or is the cat after the DP? In your opinion...worth getting a DP from Australia? I'm in Canada so shipping will be a little more but still...worth it?

Code 45, Ej20g

No, code 45 is for the pressure solenoid or pressure exchange solenoid, check that you have all your hoses connected properly, ten check all you wiring and that there is power and ground, the best is to check for voltage drop. If all of that is fine get a new solenoid...doubt that's the cause of a n...

What did you do to your Subie today?

Installed a skid plate, getting ready to install WRX 294mm rotors with willwood calipers. Also getting ready to install GC rear lateral links and a whiteline swaybar with links bushings and stout mounts. Pondering installing a Tribeca FSB and bushings...

making the 2.2 heads flow some air

Hmm, possibly, unfortunately I've moved 5 or 6 times since that build and I do not have my parts lust from that car anymore. I can try to dig around and look for you. I may still have it somewhere in the masses of binders...

Exterior roof line mouldings

My roof line moldings are now 21 years of age...the rubber on the front and rear ones are either falling out, apart or are gone completely.

Does any one have the part numbers for all 6 pieces?? I wanna give Staci (my cars name) a new years present...

Mod of the day thread anyone?

Today, I got a 3/16" aluminum skid plate from my friends down at Boyracer Fabrications up here in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was designed for a GD, fits a GC and with two new holes is now made for BC legacies!! It is a sandblasted finish and their name is in polished letters. Mine is number t...

making the 2.2 heads flow some air

Yes, in my old 92 leggy turbo. I had 1mm oversize valves a full port an polish with a 5 angle job and a swirl cut inside the port. As well as a port matched set of manifolds that had a swirl cut up the intake runners. With stock cams I ran just shy of 300 hp with ferrea springs and retainers. As wel...

OK WTF is this??

There are times when a coil has a break and when it's cold it could be internally shorting out to another part inside the coil. However, again, this is a shot in the dark. Personal recommendation, check your COMPLETE ignition system from the igniter/icm forward to the plugs, be detailed and even che...

V1 ej20G head swap

I have a 90 legacy rs type RA. Mine have just begun to get noisy too. After painstaking research I have found that this was actually a warranty issue on these motors. Back in the day Subaru would correct the problem by replacing the heads complete with v1 heads. I bought a set of v3 heads with manif...

Questions about EJ20g

I own an original legacy RS type RA it has the same engine and intercooler, mine runs 11psi stock. As well if you read around you'll find out quickly that the AWIC is good until 300 hp, after that upgrades are required, line size and pump upgrade and front exchanger are good starts. As for the injec...

Re: Sensor in my AWIC reservior ( WTF?)

Seeing as I imported a 1990 RS Type RA as my daily...I'd love to chime in on this... The sensor you are referring to on the top right hand corner of the AWIC is actually the level sensor. As the system uses a liquid to cool the intercooler it REAUIRES a level sensor to let the driver know if the int...
