Re: 96 Impreza 2.2 and 01 2.2 mix and match?

Makes sense about gaskets.

I was concerned about piston and valve clearance.

Wonder if it would be an interference motor or not afterwards?

96 Impreza 2.2 and 01 2.2 mix and match?

Currently have 96 2.2 with poor bottom end and a 01 2.2 with poor heads.

Can I replace my 96 short block with the 01 short block?

Using the 96 heads, intake, exhaust and everything that goes with it.

this type of a build isnt about revs its about torque at the low RPM range. the guy on the rs club said it pulls very hard. a little better than a ej25 in the 1st 3 gears. i was gonna do this in my FWD but am buying a turbo car instead. my brother may do this or he may just put a whole ej25 in it h...

01 Outback automatic transmission options?

What other cars can I pull replacement transmissions from?

All I know about mine is it's a 4.44.

Will a trans with the last 4 digits cdba work? It's from either a 01 OB or a GT seller isn't 100% sure.

Re: Anyone running Front Roll Centre Bump Steer Correction ?

hey guys decided to cancel the order, decided to wait until the springs are installed, to determine if i need them, i might put in strut spacers in so it might reduce the drop I was under the impression that the 05 sti struts won't work due to the change to the 5X114.5 hubs. modified the 05 strut t...

Re: Life expectancy of a 2001 Legacy alternator?

My 01 alternator died at 154,000. Interestingly it died almost exactly 1 year after my ss alternator died. Both times were at the dealership when I was visiting with my friend that works there. Sabotage? Just kidding  Let's just say I will not be driving there the second week of June next year.

Re: 95 ej18 impreza engine harness wiring qustions

Thanks!

I will do a VIN check to see. The interior was stripped out when I got the car so I am not sure it is II or not. Pretty sure it isn't but it can't hurt to check.

This has gotten a little frustrating as the car was supposed to have a complete harness.

Re: fuel tank leak

thanks josh, the new owner has opted to take the "dont fill it all the way" approach. it would seem that 7/8ths full is about where it starts leaking and smelling.
