O2 Sensor Relocate issues?
Hi All, I have a 94 SS that I am fixing up. I picked up an M2 WRX turbo back exhaust with cat the other day for 180$ (Thanks Craigslist). I have been comparing and reading through the post and I have a question. I did a search but no clear answer The stock ej22t has the O2 sensor right behind the tu...

Identify Springs/Clanking KYBs?
All, Is there a way to identify what springs I have? I am looking to figure out why my 94 SS is clanking like a beat up turd when it goes over bumps and am trying to figure out the suspension step up. I know it has KYB GR2s struts on all corners (mileage unknown), and the ride is firm but not harsh....

Re: FS EJ22t heads w/covers and cams $80 + Shipping
I did find one head local that I was able to use for the car but I would still like these. 80228 is my zip, cheapest shipping possible since I got the car back running.

Re: Bronze/Copper Flakes in Oil Filter=??
I am thinking that it was rebuilt, the block looks good and there are new gaskets and seals everywhere. I think it was just beat up on by someone that didn't have a clue how to drive or just didn't care. That or the rebuild was crap AND they flogged the hell out of it. I found another head local and...

Re: Bronze/Copper Flakes in Oil Filter=??
Update, engine is pulled and I had bearings on the crank and connecting rods going out. Crank has mild wear on it and I replaced but connecting rods looked good. I replaced the rings and pistons as well with all OEM parts. Passenger side head is jacked as well. The hardware I was feeling in the oil ...

Re: FS EJ22t heads w/covers and cams $80 + Shipping
Damon, I will buy these, I have my engine pulled and the passenger side head has a damaged cam lobe and multiple bolt holes are jacked.
I need these kinda quick. What is the best price you can do for expedited shipping to 80228?
Let me know, thanks in advance

Re: EJ22T Rebuilt Questions
Nico, The shop is going to inspect everything and I have instructed just to do the bearings and rings at this time. The $2600 quote was what they were thinking the worse case would be if they had to replace all internals. It was 1100 in parts and 1500 in labor. With just rings, bearings, and gaskets...

Oh yeah, meant to mention, seller stated that this block has been rebuilt before and I believe him, every gasket that I can see looks new and blue.

Re: EJ22T Rebuilt Questions
Thanks for the responses guys. I found a shop that has a good reputation around here and I think I am going to let them rebuild it for me. They quoted $2600 with replacing the crank. rods. pistons, all bearings. oil pump, water pump, and gaskets. When they crack it we are going to evaluate the inter...

EJ22T Rebuilt Questions
I am going to tackle getting my newly purchased 94 Legacy SS rebuilt. She runs fine now by has 220K on the clock and had metal flakes all in her oil. I have been reading through tons of posts and I think I have a good parts list together. My plan is run a TD04 or similar sized turbo with a TMIC, (al...

Re: New Guy from Lakewood CO
Thanks for the welcome guys, I started doing all the tune up stuff on this thing and I discovered bearing material in the oil. It didn't present on the dipstick and the car doesn't knock but the filter and bottom of the pan have a nice residue. SO........I am looking to rebuild. To be honest, I thin...

I saw you posted zipcode 59007 in another post, that is around Red Lodge right?
I have family in the Greybull, WY area, right down the road, I can get it picked up, let me know about the status on that block please.

Re: Bronze/Copper Flakes in Oil Filter=??
Okay did a compression test to see what I was looking at: 1 125PSI 2 130PSI 3 120PSI 4 130PSI This was a dry test. From my searching this seems pretty decent for the turbo model. This thing just doesn't sound or run like a car about to spit out a bearing....I don't understand the flakes in the oil a...

Re: Bronze/Copper Flakes in Oil Filter=??
Doesn't look good. I dumped the new oil into a clean pan and stuck my finger into the drain hole and fished the bottom residue out of the pan and let it settle and I have a good little collection of copper in the bottom. I also can feel two items that I am pretty sure are are washer/nuts in the bott...

If no block work is needed can you do a rod/crank bearing swap without pulling the engine?
