Re: USLiberty's Sleeper '93 L

I've been fixing little things here and there, dirty electrical conmectors plagued me for about a week. It is now running smoothly and just in the colesac I can already feel the response of the lighter flywheel and ported exhaust. Before my cold air intake. Check out my custom rockstar pcv breather/...

Re: Throwout bearing HELP NEEDED! Circlip broke?Where to fin

What a PITA, you know theres a big box of them sitting somewhere. After calling the local centerforce HQ, They said they had the same problem with the only other legacy SS 5 spd in town when they lost it. That car was a twin of my white SS and kinda a whore being passed from one person to the next. ...

Throwout bearing HELP NEEDED! Circlip broke?Where to find?

93 legacy SS. swapped my motor in, I was bleeding my clutch when the throwout bearing pulled out of the pressure plate snap ring. I thought it had snapped in just fine until i pushed the clutch hard. I couldn't get it to snap in again. I pulled the motor, clutch and found the circle clip was kinda w...

Re: 1986 Subaru GL-10 Leone TURBO

What a sweet build! I thought mine was gonna be a sleeper. I hope you got a gopro camera to film this insanity at the track. Also want to see a track side video to see how quickly it changes direction. I imagine it will be eating up porshes and just about anything else. BTW, That maserati is pretty ...

Re: USLiberty's Sleeper '93 L

I like them, 7 out of 10. they domt have as much travel as stock so over some rough roads are kind of rough and can give you a rollercoaster effect. I think the rally edition ksports may be better but I don't know. In the twisties they absolutely rock. I imagine they'd be great on a track also. offr...

Re: 93 Legacy L Build (FMIC Install)

Its a CX racing kit for a GC8 impreza 280$ ebay. Initially I had to cut it up a bit to work, and buy a couple extra couplings, also had to buy a BOV flange adapter for my HKS. I would set aside a week, enough time to order parts if you had to. http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u386/onefastlt/USLIb...

Fender roll

Very nice Rubasu, I was pretty close to doing a wagon myself. I wanted that color also, looks clean. One day I'd like to get a JDM version 7-8 sti/6speed/diff/dccd so I could build the 20g block. I rode in a friends bugeye WRX with one swapped in and the 9200 rpm rev limit was fun. I spent the day r...

Re: USLiberty's Sleeper '93 L

Yeah, the AWD fuel tank is in already, forgot to post a pic of it. Crossmember/ diff are in also. I also swapped the vapor seperator. Today Ill be fixing the crossthreaded diferential crossmember nut so I can snug up everything underneath for the rear crossmember. Ill also try to get to rolling the ...

Re: USLiberty's Sleeper '93 L

[quote="Legacy777"]Love the skate board lift/moving device :) I did something similar when I did my swap, except with furniture dollies so I could move the donor car out of my garage. As for the fuel separator tank, yes I swapped it over. I would recommend doing it. It doesn't really add m...

Re: USLiberty's Sleeper '93 L

Okay, did some inspecting and the AWD fuel tank has fuel vapor seperator that the FWD does not. My question for Legacy777 is did you swap the vapor seperator also? I imagine the AWD tank being odd shaped fuel sloshes a little more but I don't have to pass emissions. So any real danger in not install...

Re: USLiberty's Sleeper '93 L

Thanks, spent a lot of time on the door cards too. Yesterday I had a buddy come over and remove the 3 rear windows of each car. They had really nice formula 1 tint job. Today I got the AWD rear crossmember out, it was a little more involved than the front crossmember, I dropped the diff, brakes and ...

Re: USLiberty's Sleeper '93 L

Thanks for all the positive feedback, gives me motivation to keep going. It is a lot of work, I know Legacy777 knows how much. I will be keeping an eye out for that 6spd swap. I been watching prices for jdm sti 6spds myself. For now the 5 spd will continue to work with scottys tranny cocktail. I am ...

Re: USLiberty's Sleeper '93 L

Here goes the FMIC install, this install I was shooting for a little less piping than previous. I suceeded in losing about 18 inches of extra pipe by going where the ABS was and tucking the piping under the headlights. I used about 6- 4" metal cutting wheels by the time it was over. http://i106...

I then installed all the Link Plus Engine management wiring and removed all unnessesary factory wiring. Then ran dual 4 guage power wire to the trunk for the battery. The motor went in like butter, after making sure the clutch fork and throw out bearing were properly positioned. http://i1065.photobu...

Re: USLiberty's Sleeper '93 L

To paint the dash I used TSP to clean it and a high pressure washer to spray it off. I let it dry throughly and gave it a light layer of "Bulldog" adhesion promoter, let it dry and gave it another thicker layer. After it dried for 24 hours I gave it 2 cans of SEM interior paint in Pewter g...

I then began by swapping the tinted door windowsin , and ended up swapping all the window felt, window motors and a mirror. This was a long day. Here you can see the ugly side with body damage in the rear. I will be doing the body work and prepping it for paint myself. I will have a decent paint job...

Re: Blow off Valve Placement

I was always told the bov should be placed as close to the throttle plate as possible. When the throttle plate closes under boost the charged air is hitting a wall and if that air builds all the way back to the turbo then it can abruptly srop the turbo. The shockewave from the throttle plate needs t...

Re: Direct fit AWIC kits on the way.

Sweet thread . My JDM phase 1 EJ20G came AWIC and I traded it for some cash+ a TMIC. Wish I had kept it now because I ended up going FMIC. I think its a great idea, especially if you make the reservoir with an opening big enough to throw a bunch of ice in if you want to.

93 Legacy L Build (FMIC Install)

Here are some pics of my FMIC install, used the IC/piping from my 93 SS. I did it a little different than last time in an effort to shorten the pipe runs. http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u386/onefastlt/USLIberty/IMG_20120607_185448.jpg http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u386/onefastlt/USLIberty...

Re: Alex's '93 Legacy SS 25th ann.

That's a beautiful SS! Those wheels look great, I'd keep them on. Buy another set, dont trade em, sorry to anyone who wants them but I gotta say that color combo is sweet. Only things I would do is blackout the chrome accents with black tape and reroute the bov back into the intake after the maf. Wh...
