Re: NA Tuning Options in 2015?
On a SOHC EJ22, cams are a piece of cake! However if you do want to tinker with NA tuning, can make a PP6 work for you. I've got one laying around that I bought for my old open light car with the intention of tuning it. Ended up selling that car and getting a turbo open class car that I just went wi...

Re: NA Tuning Options in 2015?
For NA, honestly a decent intake, good cams (Delta 3000 for high end power, and Delta somethingelse for mid range torque) and a good EL header will make good enough power. Not much to be gained from NA tuning at this lower end of the spectrum.

Re: WRX Pedal Assembly?
Spray some lube up in there? There is a big spring assembly that helps with the clutch kickback. If you push your seat back all the way, or remove it, it's pretty easy to get into. I bet you it's just caked with crap.

Re: TurnNBurn's 1990 Subaru Legacy L 2.2 open light rally ca
If you are talking to me, this is whats on my car: Electric windows for sure. You want them, removing them won't give much of any performance benefit. No windows have been replaced. I've considered doing the rears, but since it's a frameless window, by the time you fab up a frame to hold the plexi t...

Re: TurnNBurn's 1990 Subaru Legacy L 2.2 open light rally ca
Yep, Coleman 1.5:1 is what I have. Make sure the mounting bolts are sideways in the car, also make sure you put some serious loctite on the spline set screws. Otherwise they WILL back out, get jammed on the tube you have to make, and then make steering near impossible. Want to know how I found that ...

Re: TurnNBurn's 1990 Subaru Legacy L 2.2 open light rally ca
Got my steering quickener in the mail yesterday! Sent my spare steering rack over to get fabbed up by my co driver in his free time so it might be a few weeks he said. For those of you guys rocking a quickener, has anyone had any troubles over heating the PS fluid and burning up pumps? My co driver...

Re: TurnNBurn's 1990 Subaru Legacy L 2.2 open light rally ca
Have you gotten logbooked yet? I'm kind of concerned about those seat mounts to be honest.... Otherwise, things look good. Do the H6 upgrade in the rear with the stock turbo legacy caliper and get some vented rotors. You'll never have to go to 2-pots in the rear, you want to stick with the good ole ...

Re: K-Sport Gravel Rally Coilovers
I think I had the 230 grind. It helps shift the powerband to the right, and on an NA motor used for rallying, that's where you'll be. Basically constantly over 4000 RPM's and up to redline. The cams are a great way to get cheap power that is actually noticeable. I loved them in my old engine. Bullet...

Re: K-Sport Gravel Rally Coilovers
RallyX is a different beast all together than stage rally. I took my rally car to a RallyX recently and man... what works in stage at 100+mph sweepers does not work at all on 30mph tight sloppy courses. The diffs I laid out are too strong for rallyX, you'll push everywhere. I'll still stand by my wo...

Re: K-Sport Gravel Rally Coilovers
For a rally computer, use a smartphone with an external GPS. There are lots of great rally odo apps out there that it renders the old school rally computer obsolete. Honestly don't even need a real rally computer in NA rallying. I've co-driven two events where the computer failed, and then even the ...

Re: K-Sport Gravel Rally Coilovers
Rates seem a bit high, especially given how light a rally prepped Leggy can get. I could see the rates being okay for a street legacy weighing in at 3200 pounds. However a race prepped Legacy can drop down to 2950 pounds without a lot of effort, right now mine is sitting around 2850 and with a 54/46...

Re: K-Sport Gravel Rally Coilovers
What are the actual spring rates. Just because they specify the body style doesn't mean they actually had proper testing to figure out the spring rate. I've been running All Wheels Driven coilovers on my rally legacies for years. Trying to get them revalved to better match the spring rates I've been...

Always sucks to let go of something you want to keep.
But with that price, you'll be hanging onto it for a veryyyy long time.

Gotta say, you do look better than half the drivers at Sno*Drift!
Big power isn't necessary, just more balls to enter faster, although generally not advised on public roads. Reminds me of 100AW last week for us.

teamCONTEracing 1991 Legacy Turbo on the limit at 100AW!
Thought I'd share some quick clips of our race at the 100 Acre Wood last weekend! Incredibly slick and tricky conditions made it one to remember. Basically the gravel Monte Carlo. Beautiful fast flowing gravel with intermittent ice patches and then transitioning to pure snow and ice on the same stag...

Re: Anyone using LED headlight bulbs?
This is from speaking with my sponsor, Diode Dynamics on whether there were LED bulbs to put in the rally car. They basically said that with the older mirror style on these headlights, the LED's are a decrease in performance because of how sharp the lights gets projected from the LED housings themse...

Re: Official CF/FG Hood Discussion/Status Thread
For the weight concious, I believe the stock hood is somewhere around 35 pounds? Don't quote me on that. I need to weigh the one in my garage. It's tempting to look into this, especially the full CF version for my rally car if it can save me 25-30 pounds. Right now I plan on hacking it up considerab...

Re: Koyo & Mishimoto Radiator Failures!!! (Legacy Turbo Mode
OEM is more than up to the cooling job, and should last the life of your car at this point. Even on my race car? That's what I need it for. I am skeptical of the stock keeping up, that thick Koyo with strong fans had a hard time keeping up at the Colorado hill climbs once the air got thin. Old post...
