Re: 1997 Impreza Coolant Overflow Issue

My 2009 Toyota was doing the same thing. Pushing coolant and not sucking it back in. It turned out to be a blown head gasket.

Re: Anything new for updating injectors?

Depending on what heads you are using Radium Engineering makes top feed injector conversions for the 20G and 20K intakes. The V3/4 conversion use different size injectors and mounting bracket than the V1/2, but you can use the v3/4 conversion on the V1/2 by rotating the bracket 180 degrees. The inje...

Re: 20g vs 25d intake manifold

I unfortunately don't have any direct experience. However, any chance you have a 25d and 20g intake manifold you could setup a flow test with? You could use a shop vac with the hose on the exhaust end and hook it up to the throttle body. You'd need to setup a manometer of some sorts with tubing and...

1993 EJ22T complete engine

Since I bought a 20G engine that I decided to build I have an extra 22T. The engine is high mileage , close to 300k miles. I had it my sedan last spring. Runs fine, but has piston slap on cold starts. Would be a good core for a rebuild. I’m looking to get $450. I’ll post some pics later this weekend...

Re: WTB: western WA ej20g ecu with chip socket

I just posted a 20G ecu on eBay. I should have looked in the parts shed first lol. I have another in my trunk. I’m heading up to Seattle today so if you want I can drop one off. If you want to borrow it that’s fine, but if you want to buy one I’ll sell you one dirt cheap to a felllow forum member.

Re: 91 SS build

I could see why a shop would't want to remove those bushings lol. I spent half my time just machining 3 sets of press tools for the various bushings on the car. If someone needed to have a couple removed I wouldn't mind doing it for free for fellow legacy enthusiasts. I really rebushed the car as an...

Re: 91 SS build (big update)

Well here is a pretty big update. Things have snowballed, and I have gone down the rabbit hole on this project. stayed tuned. This last spring was a pretty fun few months with the car. I made numerous trips across the state from Spokane to Vancouver. I also drove the hell out of it. That includes tr...

I used Bearing Service Co in Portland, Oregon when I had the machine work done for my stroker 2.2. For the 2.0 I’m going to be using Gibson performance in Spokane, Washington.

Re: 91 SS build

I got burned out on Subaru stuff the last couple of years, but my buddy that has a 97 Impreza that has pretty much the same build is sparking my interest again. I need to update the 93 build thread really bad. I had Lee build me a full carbon hood, and sun roof delete. I highly recommend him. He and...

91 SS build

As the title states... After leaving my sedan mostly stock for the last few years I have decided to do a budget build. Originally, I was going to buy a EJ20G off of eBay and just swap it in, as my stock engine has 300k on it. Well that ended up snowballing.... Build List : *1993 EJ20G WRX RA engine ...

Re: Cam options for 25D heads

I'm running Kelford 272's in my EJ25D heads. That was the only company I could find at the time that made cams for EJ20K/25D heads. I don't know if they still make them though. I thought I read something that Kelford was going to stop producing them. How long ago was that? Their site has nothing li...

Re: Highest Mileage EJ22T Stroker Builds? (2.3x Liter)

I have a EJ22T stroker. The engine has a EJ257 79mm crank in it. The block has been machined to accept a number 5 thrust bearing found on the newer cranks. I'm running BC STi 1.141 rods with Wiseco stroker pistons. I also had the rotating assembly balanced. The heads are ported EJ25D's with upgraded...

Re: TD04 turbo smoking

If that doesn't solve the problem I would check the seal(s) on the back of the passenger head where the oil distribution plate is. Last December the large plastic (I believe it was plastic, or was at some point) seal ring for the back of the cam went bad. It was leaking fairly heavily onto the up-pi...

Re: Two bad turbos???

I have had 2 turbo failures over the past few years, and one VF11 semi-blown that had oil pushing through the compressor seal. I say semi-blown since it only did it on my new engine in my wagon (did it with the restriction banjo fitting installed). I had a ton of oil in the intake and would blow a l...

Re: acceptable tire size range

I'd figure I would add some tire/wheel combos that I have ran, or know someone that has. My 93 wagon has STi 5x114.3's with a 45 series tire and is 225mm wide. This rim needs STi hubs, or adapters. I bought project kics 15mm adapters and I will say that, that 8 inch rim barely clears the strut even ...

Any custom 4x4 build shop should be able to shorten the driveshaft. It's fairly common practice when swapping axles on 4x4 rigs.

Be sure to lock, and secure your car. The other night an attempt was made to steal my 91 SS. They punched my drivers side door lock out, but did not gain entry into the car. The other week someone else, or maybe the same person, stole my BBS center caps off my car.

Just a heads up.

I need a new flywheel for my stock automatic. I can't find one. Any ideas? Is this for a SS/TW automatic? I bought one brand new from Subaru back in 2012ish. https://www.discountedsubaruparts.com/parts/1991/SUBARU/Legacy/Sport/index.cfm?action=partDetail&section=AUTOMATIC%20TRANSAXLE&group=...
