I talked to Doug two days ago. He's sounds pretty swamped with work these days.

Re: My new toy!

Did it come w/ a matching purse, or maybe a skirt? :o Yes, matching white skirt, purse, And tampons with black stripes. The intake vents have small marker and signal lights. Kinda hard to see in the pics because their dirty, but they work somewhat well. Still not quite sure how I feel about ...

Re: My new toy!

The wheels are 15x8 :-D The rigidity is well, that of a convertible. I'm thinking first mods are going to be a roll bar and supporting chassis mods. I cant believe how this thing handles. The guy I bought it from set up the suspension and alignment for hillclimbs and judging by the tire wear its set...

Re: vin needed

This same thing happened to me earlier this week. I was ordering some stuff for an E30 M3 we're building a motor for, for I had to talk directly to BMW to get some stuff from the Deutschland. While I was having parts sent, I was like "hey, and I need a fan clutch for a E46 while were at it.&quo...

Re: vin needed

Sounds like a typical parts guy to me. Just didn't quite have the aptitude to be able to make money turning wrenches. And they always have this elitist attitude, like a trained monkey couldn't replace them. They complain the most about their jobs, and rarely are caught breaking a sweat. The whole, &...

Re: The "i want one" list

How do you REALLY feel about it Steve lol! And your totally right. The car is a gimmick. Four turbos is just a sales pitch and its funny that they were more important than being able to cool the thing in the first place. (seems like there still must be some Italian design influence in there somewher...

Has anyone run a Carfax on this thing?

This has got to be the 6th or 7th owner since me?

I think I was the fourth owner when I bought it.

This has got to be some sort of record.......

Re: DIY sporty seats

The backrest part of my seat didn't have wires running vertically. Otherwise, I would have done the same thing to it. Some seats might have more "loops" and wires in the backrest seat cover then mine. If so, if one were so inclined, they could remove foam back there and "sportify"...

Re: DIY sporty seats

Now, we have the "Hogring". Its what upholstry is put together with. You could probably pick them up at a fabric or upholstry store I think. I grew up doing interior work since a wee lad and still occasionally shit these things out as I'd usually just throw a handfull in my mouth while put...

We start with a seat. (if we need to explain how to remove a seat, this mod may not be for you  ) http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f303/kaewhy/RalliTek/CIMG0194.jpg Start by removing the seat sliders, there are four bolts. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f303/kaewhy/RalliTek/CIMG0195.jpg Po...

Re: Projekt Sonne Wagen

The pictures dont really show it well, but there was a lot more to the headlights then just baking and painting. As far as the wheels, I was thinking about paint matching them with the yellow, cant really decide. (maybe a dark metallic? Black always looks spraypainted to me) It needs to go lower, a ...
