Thanks but shipping would kill the deal. 3000 miles is a long way. Again, thanks.

Re: 4EAT doing strange things

OK, a family friend that is a retired ASE Master transmission tech, he worked at a Subaru and Nissan dealer for a time, was over and after asking if he would rebuild it, he said he could not do it as his hands are buggered up. He asked what it was doing when it broke, and the symptoms that we explai...

Re: 4EAT doing strange things

Here it is a year later and still have not fixed it yet.

My question now is will a 4EAT from a 99 Legacy Outback work in my 94?

What mods would need to be done?

If I would need the TCU can it be wired to work?

If its just the plugs at the trans, I can cut and splice the correct connectors on.

Upgrade Clutch kit for 93 NA

Would like a complete kit and if available a lightweight flywheel too. Does any of the WRX stuff fit a 93 NA Lego? I have a 93 Legacy that is donating its trans for my 94 TW with a 4EAT and would like to upgrade so I don't burn up a OEM one.

Re: Exhaust work in the Seattle Area

There's always Stans in Auburn but bring a wheel-barrel of $$$. When I built my (non Turbo) 84 Shelby Charger with a LOOOONG header I installed a Walker 3 inch SUPER cat. The Dyno test said it picked up a small amount of torque (+2) at 750 to 2000 RPM but was almost no change all the way to 7200 RPM...

Re: Blocking that "U" hose to the PCV

Hey Josh, I have not ripped one of these engines down yet. So does every one of these have a windage tray? I bet a scraper could be welded onto a windage tray to fit up in those gaps in the blocks. I cut my sons Jeep 4.0L's oil pans sump, welded 2.25 inches in, baffled it, windage tray, extended the...

Re: catch can

To pull a vacuum it has to overcome the blow-by. On a race car you will spend over $250 for a set of piston rings, another $80 per cylinder to super fine hone them with a torque plate. All to limit the blow-by. A multy stage Dry sump/Vacuum pump will set you back another $2000-$5000. This is not a s...

I guess remembering to simply empty it. Its old school that still works but what a mess to deal with.

also, oil scraper. want to see the gains on one of those... keeps oil from getting aerated, and causing resistance on the crank Oil scrapers along with a windage tray! I gained 10+ Ponies (Dyno'ed) on a NA 2.2 in my 84 Dodge Shelby, all from 1500 RPM up past 7200 RPM with a peak of 14 HP above 5500...

Blocking that "U" hose from the intake to PCV

Removed wrong info. Thanks Josh for the correct info on how a PCV system works on these engines. In a racing engine the crankcase is vacuumed down to a negative pressure. This helps suck the piston down and has less resistance too. These vacume pumps also work with a DRY SUMP oiling system and are ...

Re: catch can

On my Mustang Turbo build I used a Porsche 944 unit. The oil mixed air would come from two PVC ports and enter the top and swirl around and the oil would drip down and the mostly oil free air got sucked back under the carb in the turbo manifold intake. This was a draw threw "Wet" turbo sys...

Re: catch can

And there are 1000's of them on Ebay for $45 or so.

But I am one that will not use a catch can. Condensation causes milky smudge. I have always made a oil/air separator. There are some on Ebay too.

At work we have a HUGE Cummings V12 generator that will power the whole telephone exchange at 200%. It is a twin turbo. Both turbos and all piping to include the cold side are heavily rapped and you can work around the pipes. Now the noise level is around 135 dB. Bottom of page: http://www.hercules-...

If these are not available then this should be UN-Sticky'ed and let die. No need for a sticky that is a dead lead.

I would like to buy a water intercooler. Ether a kit of just the intercooler itself. I am in the Seattle area and prefer Paypal or cash if a local deal.
