Re: Crankshaft Pulley Wobble
Mine did the same thing. Turns out mine damaged some of the things behind it and caused the crank sensor to read bad causing a lot of issues for me. Wish I caught it sooner

Re: The Official Cheap Mods Thread
I put the hole right behind the ABS unit and have driven through many puddles with no issues at all. I guess it all depends on the placement of it. I've seen some people on here put it directly underneath the airboxSWRT wrote:Sucks if you go through a lot of dust or water or

Re: The Official Cheap Mods Thread
What about the cutting a hole into the stock air box below the filter to make more intake noise? That can be done for cheap if not free if you have the tools.

I live in the Colorado Springs area. I've seen several first gens in all shapes and colors. Interestingly enough I've maybe seen two turbos and one LSi trim which is mine. I'll have a turbo hood scoop on it. I already have a purple muffler on it because the stock one wasn't loud enough.

Re: What's the point of motorized manual HVAC control?
I would like a separate recirculate button but the controls aren't too bad. Really my biggest problem is how noisy the system is when I switch vents. lol funny to listen to but sometimes annoying especially when I'm asked why it does that

Stock car alarm system
I've been looking around on the site but found no answer. My 92 Legacy LSi came with the factory car alarm system. Thanks to my luck, I don't have the key fob for it so I can't use it. If I turn the switch on it goes off and doesn't turn off till I disconnect the battery. Not really willing to do th...

No, CAFE is measured from the car, but doesn't follow the revised EPA test. Actually, now the requirements are based on some kind of calculation involving the car's footprint (the smaller the car, the higher the required mileage). But since it measures the fleet average, every 3 cylinder that does ...

Rest of the world accepts diesels except us. By the way, most of the time that 'soot' you're seeing is unburned diesel fuel. Believe it or not diesels actually run cleaner than gas engines when TUNED right. Problem is those guys driving the Ford F-350s with stacks that are blowing out a ton of smoke...

Majority of them are 74. It's six of the 74 ones. Two of the bigger ones. Here's a link to give you an idea of what bulbs and what they look like and prices:

Re: Interior Gauge lighting
I've changed the gauge lighting but not the HVAC yet. I've also changed the ashtray light, dome light, glove box light, map lights, trunk light and more to L.E.Ds. Only issue with changing the gauge lighting is there will be spots that are brighter than other spots aka hot spots. Also, since the bac...

Re: OK to drive with old fuel?
Yeah I wouldn't. My friend who owns a 99 Ford F-150 ran old fuel in his car once and broke one of the rocker arms. Took him forever to figure out what was wrong with it. I'm not saying that could happen with your car but it is possible.

Low Fuel light staying on
Ever since I've had the car the low fuel light never lit up when I turned the car on. About a week ago I switched all the bulbs to L.E.Ds including the low fuel light. It now lights up but always stays on when I'm driving. I don't mind it that much but it would be nice if it worked properly. I'm pre...

I'd understand if he charged that if the car had like 30,000 miles with no rust and looked brand new but in its shape its not even worth have what he's asking. That's what I think anyways

Re: Superbrightleds.com
Just a heads-up -- you really shouldn't use these LED lights in signalling lights like taillights or sidemarkers or turn signals. The optics of those lamps are designed for light coming from a certain place (the filament of the right kind of bulb), and putting in one of these LED setups changes the...

Re: Superbrightleds.com
I know if I were to go with a different color (such as blue) it wouldn't be a problem, But I'm afraid the white bulbs will pick up the green tint. I took my Streamlight Stylus Pro flashlight to the back of the cluster last time I had it out and it just loked like a sea foam green, I hated it... So ...

Re: Superbrightleds.com
Yes, but the gauge itself has a green tint so even with out the sleeves it still glows green. Well yes that is true but only to a certain extent. I have two blue L.E.Ds in my gauge cluster and those areas are a pure blue. The rest is green since I didn't change it out. I changed the light for the s...

Re: Sluggishness?
It turns out it was the crank pulley was loose. Whoever replaced the timing belt last didn't tighten it enough. So because it was dancing around a bit it was causing the crank sensor to get weird readings which caused all of my problems. Thanks to whoever, I had to pay 610 to fix it since it damaged...

I've heard Jeremy Clarkson mention the Subaru Legacy on Top Gear, referring to a list of cars they agree that they like... What model do they test? They don't get one of those "used car" challenges and end up with one of our 1st gens, do they? If so I gotta find that episode! Edit...
