Hi folks. I thought someone would ring in on this. I keep searching threads here and at DIYAUTOTUNE. They all seem to run out before the payoff. Anybody? S..

Microsquirt on my 2.2 T 88 GL.

Hi All. Haven't been around for a while, bought a new property with an old home. Working seven days a week and loving it. The vehicle in question is my old 88 GL 10 T. I did a 2.2 T swap a few years ago but never got it running right, in spite of all the help from you guys and in particular Josh. So...

Re: 2.2 fails to run.

I've got it set at about 35-40lbs. I seems to me not to be pressure or volume, but more the injectors stop firing. I,ve been meaning to break out the stethoscope and listen to the injectors as it dies. This business of making a livin' seems to keep gettin' in the way. And sadly, the nite crew doesn'...

Re: 2.2 fails to run.

It was throwing a 49 code a week or two ago, so I replaced it with a JY unit the other day. No longer a code, but no change in run time, maybe 10 seconds. Just picked up some starting fluid, thot I'd give it a leak search that way. Thanks guys. S

Re: 2.2 fails to run.

Yes, I've looked it over closely, don't see any leak points. I was thinkin' to try a little starter fluid around possible areas, during the short idle periods. And, scratchin' my head. Thanks, Steve.

2.2 fails to run.

Hi All. Say, I've got a problem with my 2.2 Legacy. It starts rite up, idles smoothly for a few seconds, then dies. Good spark, good fuel pressure well after it dies. I've checked for vacume leaks, everything seems tite. It was throwing a 49 code (MAF), replaced that, no change other than no codes n...

Thanks Guys. I hadn't thot' about the knock sens., it is hooked up, but not sure if it's good or not. I'll ck. that out. Josh, Don't think I did, good call. I'm so burned out on this, been over a month on this eng. maneg. thing. If it had a disty., I'd brake out Miller and tig up a carb, manifold. A...

Re: EJ 22T fuel cut at 3-5 lbs. boost

Thanks Tony, but I don't think it's there. It's a manual controller with new silicon hoses and clamps. It makes a ton of boost, the problem is the fuel cut, kills the fuel flow completely and it falls on it's face. Back out just a bit and it runs smoothly again. I'm gonna' try dropping the boost to ...

EJ 22T fuel cut at 3-5 lbs. boost

Hi. folks. I'm workin' on my 88GL10T - EJ22T swap. It runs and sounds great, as long as you don't offer it any boost. At 3 to 5 lbs. it hits a full fuel cut. Back out just a little and it's back to runnin' smoothly. I've posted it over at the USMB, but the more heads the better. I'm rinning a manual...

Source for new EJ22T piston rings

Hi. yall. Searching for a set of EJ22T piston rings. I've done a lite port and polish, and valve job. Figured I ota' replace the rings and a little hone job since it's down this far. A friend that has a Suby shop in Santa Fe said " ya, just pull 'em and clean the pistons and oil rings and put i...

2.2L Fel-pro head gaskets.

Hi. ya'll. Say, I'm puttin' my 2.2 engine back together to swap it into my 88 GL 10 turbo wagon. I did a little port n polish job, and smoothed the mating faces up with 250 wet or dry on a heavy marble slab. I'm ready to install 'em, and find that some of the cooling ports don't line up or aren't th...

Re: EJ 2.2 conversion

Yes, that what I've run into, one local machine shop said they wouldn't warranty an overhaul w/o new bolts. Another shop, an independent Suby place said he's done hundreds of Suby overhauls and never replaced a head bolt. If I had the $, I'd go with ARP studs but that's a couple of hundred bucks. Gu...

EJ 2.2 conversion

Hi folks. Say, I'm gettin' ready to start the 2.2 conversion into my 88 GL 10 T wagon. I have a 2.2 turbo engine settin' on my shop floor, I've pulled the heads off and they look good, the cylinder bores still have nice cross hatch. Maybe low miles. Can you tell me if the numbers on top of the bell ...

Re: A/F meter hooked up wrong

Mine is a Innovative M S MTX-L,it has two N B simulated analog outputs, one is 0v=7.35 AFR and 5v=22.39 AFR. The other is 1.1v=14 AFR and .1v=15 AFR. I'll have to say it really made a huge difference in my fuel system, maybe just a cleaner signal to the ECU, don't know but it's been one of the best ...

A/C wireing problems

Hy folks. Say, I've been workin' on my 93 SST. Weather's getting warm, so I decided to service my A/C. The clutch wouldn't engage from dash controls, so I jumped power to it and it worked fine. So, slightly cool air, sight glass showed lots of moisture, so I evaced. it flushed it, pulled 23" of...

Re: A/F meter hooked up wrong

First, is it a narrow band, (no digital read out) just a band of lites around the perimeter of the gauge? If so it's prob. working correctly, their basically a volt meter and the lite show is indicating the output of the O2 sensor. The wide bands are much the same, but with an actual AFR reading sho...

Re: So, can i just torch a coil?

Hi, yes I'd seen that in another thread some place. I pulled a set from a late 90s Imp. a week or so ago. Their low mileage replacements, and thats good, but had no affect on ride hight. I do have the originals for back up, so could try the coil cut, but it's a lot of work if y'all don't think thats...

So, can i just torch a coil?

Hi folks, still workin' on my 93 SS T. I'm running 16" Outback wheels, & 215-60s. That raised the car up quite a bit, & I'd like to lower it at least 1.5" in the rear. I'm an old school hot rodder, (I'm 66) & we've been whackin' a coil or two for many years. I'm sure it's frown...

Hey Nico, cool build. Should finish out as an amazing ride. I'm rite behind you. Mine's an 88 GL 10 T. wagon. I did the XT 6 thing a few years ago, w/ 16" Rex whls, early Rex twin pot fronts, 240 SX rears w/ e-brakes. The 1.8 has had a lot of wotk done, runnin' a TDO 4, 3" wide mouth D.P.,...
