Re: Replaced exhaust seal but water is still dripping out.

Yes, it is a stock exhaust. The FSM diagrams support what you are saying. I'll take a look and see if I installed it backwards. When I installed it I made to install the tapered end of the gasket into the rounded entrance, whichever entrance that was. I thought about it for a bit before I did it, bu...

Re: After spindle install SS 4EAT has shifting problem.

I checked the transmission fluid when the engine was cold, and when it was hot. When it was cold it was well above the full mark and when it was hot it was hard to read, but there were bubbles on the dipstick which would lead me to believe that there is too much fluid. I haven't done the drain and r...

Re: Whiny Engine

Hi Baddog, lol! My second gen leggy engine is whiny ever since I replaced the timing belt. I bought a cheap ebay kit which I now regret. I should have gone with Gates. Anyway, the subaru FSM says that timing belt noise could be a result of a loose timing belt. I may have not done the screwdriver tri...

Replaced exhaust seal but water is still dripping out.

I replaced the exhaust seal on my SS where the downpipe meets the long pipe (is that the axleback or catback? still learning). There are two spring bolts that hold the two bits together. I tightened the new spring bolts as far as they can go but it still leaks and it is the only thing keeping me fro...

Re: After spindle install SS 4EAT has shifting problem.

Thanks for responding. No, I haven't refilled anything related to the transmission as of yet. Today I checked the dipstick that is on the passenger side and south of the bellhousing (north being the headlights, lol) and it showed the fluid level was a bit above the 'F' mark so it may be a bit too fu...

After spindle install SS 4EAT has shifting problem.

I recently rebuilt my 93 SS w/4EAT EJ22T. I am now in the process of getting her to pass safety so she will be legal. I tried to get her to pass safety today but failed because of play in the driver's side front wheel and an exhaust leak of the downpipe flange gasket. The exhaust leak seems like BS ...

Re: Rebuilt my 93 SS. Rod knock?

It was a stuck lifter after all! :) Upon listening, I could hear that the noise was coming from the driver's side. I have a spare set of EJ22T heads so I took the rocker assembly off that, bled the bottom row of HLAs because they needed it, the top row of HLAs were all locked. I took the valve cover...

Re: Rebuilt my 93 SS. Rod knock?

Thanks for the advice. I'll bleed the lifters on Monday and give an update. I read the FSM procedure and it seems relatively straight forward. BTW I may have found another SS in rough shape w/5MT (dark blue) for about $1k out here in SLC if anyone is interested. I may go take a look. edit: Thanks fo...

Rebuilt my 93 SS. Rod knock?

I bought a 93 SS w/160k & 4EAT in January. A friend of mine from the LGT forum found it, checked it out and bought it. I then bought it from him. I live in SLC, and the SS was in Denver. Another friend of mine offered to fly out to Denver and drive it to SLC. 70 miles out of Denver it overheated...

Re: Turbo Inlet 90 Elbow No Longer Available

I'm going to try taping it up temporarily. A buddy of mine (subikid) on the LGT forum is going to try fabricating an elbow and coffee can mod as a unit going from the air box to the turbo. It it works out, he is thinking about selling them to SS owners, which will be pretty cool and is greatly needed.

Re: Turbo Inlet 90 Elbow No Longer Available

Howdy all, this is my first post on this site. I am so bummed. I cracked my elbow when I took it off my SS the other day. I wish I would have known how easy they are to break. I'm trying to figure what to do next, but the replacements listed on this thread are so expensive. I bought a black '93 SS w...
