Re: Idle and start issues
Just decided to do an ECU reset. Seemed to have solved the issue for me.

Re: Driveability issue
Just follow the intake piping and search for any cracks or loose connections. Also make sure to check all of your vacuum/boost lines for damage as well. Depending on how long it has been since you replaced everything, it would be a bad idea just to get some bulk line and have at it.

Re: 1990legacy running on 3 cylinders
So three things are relate to your issue
1) Does it have spark?
2) Does it have fuel?
3) Does it have compression?
You have already found that it has fuel, so get the answers to #1 and then #3 and you will find your issue. Hopefully it is just in need of plugs and/or wires.

Re: Idle and start issues
day 2 update. Car seems to have issues idling for anything over about 10 seconds at full operating temp. It will stumble down to 500, back up to 750-800, back down to 500 and then either stall out or ramp it back up to about 1200rpms. Next on the list is probably checking the IAC valve for correct o...

Re: Fuel cuts when in boost
I guess I should have reported back about this. Didn't replace the ECU, I remeasured all values on all of the connector wiring, found that I had a major resistance issue on the MAP sensor wiring (about 17 ohms). Ran new wiring to the ecu and solved the issue. So I guess never rule out wiring, even i...

Re: Idle and start issues
Replaced the coolant temp sensor, seems to have lessened the symptoms listed above, car seems to locate the 'correct' idle a bit faster than before.
Crank time is still a bit slow after the first start of the day.

That was one thing that i was considering. Can those be replaced without doing a partial drain of the coolant system?

Idle and start issues
Got a couple of lingering issues that I am trying to hammer out with my build. 1. Cold Start Car fires up quick (as it should) but rpm's shoot up to 2,500 and then slowly lower until the 'normal' 1,500 cold start idle. Is that a normal cold start idle progression? Also, how long is the cold start id...

Re: weird idle new to forum
Well below 500rpms pretty much any car is going to idle like shit. I would start off by figuring out why your idle is lower than the 750-800 that it should be. Check for vacuum leaks, intake leaks, clean the MAF sensor, replace air filter (if dirty). How long has it been since your plugs have been c...

Re: Injector harness question
Yes, the connectors are injector specific. If you put the wrong one on the wrong injector it will fire at the wrong time. At least on the 90 MY wiring harness, the injector plug harness is labeled, 1, 2, 3, or 4. Not sure if they continued doing this on the later years. Is it labeled on the actual ...

Injector harness question
Are the connectors injector specific? Like if you put the front injector plug on the rear injector does it cause any issues? Or does it not matter? I took out my wiring harness and just need to know if i should be watching out for what plug goes to what injector.

gray top injector question
So i think i have done something stupid. On the forester 440cc gray top injecters there is a brown cap that sits on the injecter nozzle (the part that goes into the intake manifold). I have accidentally broken one of them. Does anyone know if they are necessary? Or can i take them all off and run th...

Not sure, if any one could verify the compatibility between the TS and TW sunroof assys that would be awesome. Dibs on your sunroof when you start the part out just in case they are the same.

Mercer Island/Bellevue area. I know there are some at a few of the junk yards around the state but I would rather give the money to an enthusiast.

Re: Exhaust work in the Seattle Area
I've got a Turbo XS standard axle back that I would be willing to part with because I am looking for something louder. Its on the car right now so I would be willing to do a meetup and swap one weekend.
