I think that STOP LIGHT bulb is to tell you a brake light is out. So you should be able to just pull a brake light bulb out and step on the brake. That STOP LIGHT should then light up. Thanks. I thought it was supposed to come on when you first turn on the ignition. I will try pulling the bulb.

I had the cluster yesterday changing allot of the bulbs. One I tested was the STOP LIGHT bulb. It was bad so I changed it but it does not come on when I turn the key to on. Is it supposed to? How could I check the sytem without re-pulling the cluster?

Hi all, Just picked up a 94 Legacy Ti on Saturday. Great little car. Has 250k & runs like a champ. Only things that don't work are the seat belt mother on the drivers side & some bulbs. I have a number of the cluster lights out. I am going to pull the cluster tomorrow. What I want to know is...

Mine whines on deceleration in all gears but really noticable in second.

Thanks for the input. I tried adjusting the clutch. There was not enough freeplay so I am hoping that will help the throwout bearing last a little while. Still not sure about the whine. Probably just live with it for awhile.

The pilot bearing would be one of the things I would change when I did the clutch. I had one go bad in one of my VW buses it stopped me by not allowing me to shift at all. It was jsut a little bronze bushing in the end of the crank. Thanks.

I changed the tranny & diff fluids when I first got the car & again when I first noticed the whine. Both times there was nothing in the oil that I could see or feel. Since I have more gear oil I will go ahead & change it again.

I finnaly got it loose. I got a angled brake adjusting tool lodged into the flywheel. Pipe on breaker bar & POW! Off it came. Thanks.

Alright, I am a idiot. I can't get the crank bolt off. I have this heavy duty strap wrench & no go. I tried putting the car in 5th but there is not enough throw to break the bolt loose. I can't seem to get anything into the flywheel ring gear unless I remove the intake manifold. There just does ...

I have a noise inside my timing cover that sounds like a bearing going bad. I am going to pull the belt off this weekend & check out the parts. I understand a chain wrench will hold the cam sprockets in place while you loosen the attachment bolts. I do not have the special subaru wrench #4999777...

I have a clutch shudder on my 95 Outback. It only happens when the car is cold. As the car warms up, the shudder slowly fade untill all is smooth. Should I start worrying or is this common in Subies? Thanks.

Thanks Laurel. Not sure about the wheels I have the original invoice but it does not mention the wheels. I do like them though.

Yeh, mine has only 93k on it. Spent most of it's life in Utah before coming to Oregon. Hope to get allot more out of her.
