What color are they? They in good shape? How much would you want for them?

Re: Stop Light Indicator

I think that STOP LIGHT bulb is to tell you a brake light is out. So you should be able to just pull a brake light bulb out and step on the brake. That STOP LIGHT should then light up. I don't think I've ever seen it on any other time. I tried pulling a bulb but no light. Now that I look further, m...

Re: Stop Light Indicator

Thanks. I thought it was supposed to come on when you first turn on the ignition. I will try pulling the bulb.

Sun Visors

I need both sun visors on my 94 wagon. Are 90-94 the only years that will fit? TIA.

Stop Light Indicator

I had the cluster yesterday changing allot of the bulbs. One I tested was the STOP LIGHT bulb. It was bad so I changed it but it does not come on when I turn the key to on. Is it supposed to? How could I check the sytem without re-pulling the cluster?

Dash lights

Hi all, Just picked up a 94 Legacy Ti on Saturday. Great little car. Has 250k & runs like a champ. Only things that don't work are the seat belt mother on the drivers side & some bulbs. I have a number of the cluster lights out. I am going to pull the cluster tomorrow. What I want to know is...

Thanks for the input. I tried adjusting the clutch. There was not enough freeplay so I am hoping that will help the throwout bearing last a little while. Still not sure about the whine. Probably just live with it for awhile.

The pilot bearing would be one of the things I would change when I did the clutch. I had one go bad in one of my VW buses it stopped me by not allowing me to shift at all. It was jsut a little bronze bushing in the end of the crank. Thanks.

I changed the tranny & diff fluids when I first got the car & again when I first noticed the whine. Both times there was nothing in the oil that I could see or feel. Since I have more gear oil I will go ahead & change it again.

Throwout bearing I think

I am concerned. My 95 5MT has a noice that sounds like a spinning bearing when I push the clutch in. The sound decreases as the RPMs go done. If I am coasting in neuteral & move the shift lever toward or into a gear the noise gets lowder for a second. I beleive it is the release bearing. Here is...

I had checked it twice about 2 weeks apart after I changed it. Not since. Maybe time to check it again. I have no signs of leakage but maybe I will change it again & look for anything in the oil. The oil that I originally drained out was not bad but my tranny drain plug was leaking so I figured ...

tranny whine

I think I may have a problem. I am getting gear whine when I am in gear & let off the gas. It is most noticable in 3rd gear but it is there in all gears. I only notice it when I am off the gas. I have changed all the fluids when I bought the car in September. Any ideas? Am I doomed? Pat Callagha...

crank bolt

Alright, I am a idiot. I can't get the crank bolt off. I have this heavy duty strap wrench & no go. I tried putting the car in 5th but there is not enough throw to break the bolt loose. I can't seem to get anything into the flywheel ring gear unless I remove the intake manifold. There just does ...

cam wrench

I have a noise inside my timing cover that sounds like a bearing going bad. I am going to pull the belt off this weekend & check out the parts. I understand a chain wrench will hold the cam sprockets in place while you loosen the attachment bolts. I do not have the special subaru wrench #4999777...

clutch shudder

I have a clutch shudder on my 95 Outback. It only happens when the car is cold. As the car warms up, the shudder slowly fade untill all is smooth. Should I start worrying or is this common in Subies? Thanks.
