Re: HVAC Control Switch
Well, just as a follow up, I replaced the HVAC control switch with another one with 176k instead or 256k that mine has. So far all works as it should. Only time will tell. Last week my A/C worked great for 2 days. On the 3rd day it would not engage. After about 15 minutes of messing with the buttons...

Re: HVAC Control Switch
This is frustrating. I spent a bit on my day off trying to figure this problem out. When I want it to not work it will work every time. Kind of hard to diagnose a problem if it is not doing it. Yesterday after work, close to 90F, the a/c would not engage. I get about a mile from work & all of a ...

Re: HVAC Control Switch

Re: HVAC Control Switch
Thanks. I really appreciate the help. I think the problem is starting to get worse. Yesterday on the way to work, the A/C was fine then the compressor shut off & would not come on for a few minutes. Then as I was fiddling with the buttons it stared up again.

Re: HVAC Control Switch
Josh, Outside temp does not seem to matter when it happens. It has happened in the cool morning when I hit the DEF switch & when it's warmer out in the afternoon. I do have one of those interdynamics r134 cans. While I do not remember the actual PSI it was in the green zone. I will check it agai...

HVAC Control Switch
My 94's a/c is bugging me. Most of the time everything works fine. Nice & Cold, good airflow at the right places. Heater works great. Sometimes, the compressor does not kick on in any of the modes it is supposed to.(DEF, DEF/Heat, Max A/C, A/C) I think it is my switch that is maybe going bad. Af...

Re: Strange Cold start behavior
Josh,
I have no history on the car. I bought it in March with 252K & nothing else. Since it's only about $20 I may just go ahead & change it.

Strange Cold start behavior
My 94 started doing something odd. When cold only, it will start normal, then the idle will go up to about 1500-200rpm, then drop to almost stalling about 500rpm. If I give it a little gas it will be OK. It settles down within a minute or less & idles normal. If I start it up warm, it seems norm...

Re: New speedometer cable
No problem. Sorry about the double post. I had to dig the old rubber piece out of the tranny then the new adapter fit perfect. My old cable assembly was OK, just the adapter was broken. Thanks for the help.

Re: New sppedomter cable
I ended up ordering a new part that goes into the tranny. It will not be in until Wednesday. Will try again with the correct part. The replacement cable I had was from a 91. It was one piece. Mine is a 94, that has the cable that detaches from the part that screws into the transmission. My cable sec...

New speedometer cable
I did pull my speedo cable & it was broke. Trying to get the replacement in. Have it seated into the cluster but for the life of me, the part that screws into the tranny will not thread in. It is like it sits up too far for the threads to catch. My questions are has anybody had this & what t...

Re: Help! No speedometer, engine light
I pulled code & got code 33 which makes sense considering my problem. I tried to reseat the cable at the speedo head. I now get a little speedometer wiggle at speed. I have to work again tonight but tomorrow I will pull the cable at the transmission & see what I can find. Pretty sure it's ei...

Help! No speedometer, engine light
Ok, last night on way home after work, doing about 65MPH on freeway. All of a sudden the speedometer goes to 0MPH & my car just revs free. No drive in any gear but still running. I am coasting & hit the manual switch & now I have 3 gears. I manage to get off the freeway & stop. I pul...

Josh,
I just ordered some Lubegard Limited Slip additive that I have read on some of the subie forums. I am off Tuesday so I will be doing those tests. Thanks for the input.

Re: Torque Bind?
I would check the resistance of the duty c solenoid and see how it compares to the values in the FSM. How does the fluid look/smell? http://main.experiencetherave.com/subaru_manual_scans/FSM_Scans/at_dutyc_sol_diag1.jpg http://main.experiencetherave.com/subaru_manual_scans/FSM_Scans/at_dutyc_sol_di...

Re: Torque Bind?
Well, I pulled codes from the TCU. There were no current codes but there was a old code 24 which is the duty c solenoid. When I put the fuse in, the binding went away.

Torque Bind?
I believe I am suffering from torque bind on my 94. It stutters & will actually almost stop in a sharp turn. I am going to insert the FWD fuse & test it out. Will having the FWD fuse in hurt anything in the long run? Can I install the fuse & drive it normally for a few days or do I need ...

Already checked. They said that that offer is only for 95 and newer models.mike-tracy wrote:Subaru dealerships replace seatbelts for free for the lifetime of the car. I'm pretty sure they don't cover the motor, but they may replace your frayed belt.

WTB Passenger seatbelt
I am looking for the passenger shoulder seatbelt. I am just looking for just the belt retractor part, not the motor but most will not want to sell it that way. My wagon has the gray interior. Mine is frayed & will not retract. I imagine 90-94 will fit but not sure.
