2006 Giant Trance 1 (one week old)
2000 Giant TCR 1 Road Bike
1998 Specialized S-Works (For sale)
Old Cannodale road bike with mtb handle bar, shifters (commuter)

I raced XC and road for about 5 years. I hope my list of bikes makes up for owning only one subie.

I just recieved the same friction plates from MAKO. Did you need any special tools to remove the clutch assembly? I think I'm beyond a shade tree mechanic but I don't have any experience with transmissions. Got any tips?

Thanks

I ordered the manual for our tranny from this place. Should be getting it in the next couple of days. I'll let you know if it has good info. I also emailed them asking the same question and this was their reply: This is what the catalog says but you must verify Qty & thickness. Friction clutch (...

If you have part # for the clutch pack then please post. It would be nice to have the parts before I take the case off. Did you have to drain the tranny fluid?

That makes sense considering I couldn't find a single thread about changing the clutch packs. I have a feeling that a new duty C solenoid would fix my problem but I would just rather pull the transfer case once and replace anything that can wear out. Unless someone has the manual scans for removing ...

Thanks for the info. I ordered the manual to get started. The local mountains just got a dusting, I hope I can sort this out before ski season.

another "awd not working" thread

Hello I know this topic has been beaten to death but I've run into a problem that nobody seems to have. I had my AT rebuilt in my 94 turbo wagon and my awd hasn't worked properly since. After going back to the shop 4 times, they told me that it's the clutch packs in the transfer case and that wasn't...

So to a 94 2.2 turbo, I could attach
- 91 to 94 turbo automatic
- 95 to 98 2.5 automatic

I ruled out the N/A 2.2 tranny because I don't know if it can handle the extra power.

Hello, this is my first post but I've been browsing this site for two years now since I got my 94 legacy turbo wagon. My tranny is not in great shape but I found a 1998 Outback tranny. Are the 2.5 trannys compatible with the 2.2 turbo (besides changing the diffs).
Thanks
