Re: Negative camber alignment with no RSB?

Thanks Jamal. Sounds like more (any) negative front camber is definitely what I'm needing! When I was re reading your sway bar write-up, I realized just how much body roll falls into the swaybar category so that would obviously be a major improvement! I'll probably go more negative camber up front f...

Re: Negative camber alignment with no RSB?

Thanks Josh, I'll have to look into it to find out the maximum you can go on the rears without any modification. Funny thing happened when I actually checked my old alignment sheet. It's... FRONT: Left +0.3 Right 0.0 REAR: Left -0.4 Right -0.6 So combine that with me running 2lbs less always in the ...

Negative camber alignment with no RSB?

I'm thinking of setting my alignment at -1.0 all the way around. I'm getting some wearing on the outsides of tires and want to limit uneven wear. I have no RSB ('93 L), and have stock suspension with 200k miles. Current alignment is .2 positive camber! Air pressure usually around 40 PSi warm...

Re: Window gusset question

Good news! The gap and wind noise are gone. Pinching the gap closed by hand got rid my wind noise and also 90% of the gusset gap with window up and door open. So (I think) in answer to the question: The torn Gusset (by itself) will not make the window lean in too much. But the torn rubber will allow...

Re: Window gusset question

So I'm guessing the gussets are more structural than I was wanting to believe. I didn't think the pinching was making much difference, but I went out just now and gave it some more thumb muscle. I was able to feel more where the metal would be and was able to get a large improvement in the le...

Re: Window gusset question

Small update: I pinched the gusset closed to where it would stay in contact by itself at the top, but as soon as I put the window up, it was no different. I think the only thing left is a new(er) gusset to be sure. The guys that did the windows said they would put the gussets in for free, so I just ...

Re: Window gusset question

Thanks Josh, Just some background for everyone info that I didn't include. Here's a bit of a timeline: -pre-existing: minor split in both gussets, only have wind noise from passenger window. -last week: I get both windows busted out on the driver side (both driver side door windows). Nothing stole l...

Window gusset question

Hi everyone. I have a "which came first the chicken or the egg" type question. My window Gusset (that triangle piece that always makes wind noise) is split and I have a gap between the outer side of window and gusset. Pic looking down from top of window: http://i990.photobucket.com/albums/...

Re: Noise from clutch

Hi guys. Just putting a bit of a closing on this. Didn't want anyone to think I was ignoring all their helpful info. As is always the case, I wish I knew all of this before the clutch job. I'm still looking into exact causes, but a lot of things point to inside the housing and I'm still figuring how...

Re: Noise from clutch

OK, so I feel like I have a better understanding of the retainer spring and bearing clips. So tiny and so crucial that they're installed right. Thanks guys for your info and the pdf. I will need to change the clutch cable soon, and have included a vid of the binding cable. The clutch pedal is...

Re: Noise from clutch

Here's a belated update. I wasn't able to really do anything yesterday but here's what I found out. The brand of clutch (kit) is Luk (Luke), not Exedy. The kit included a clutch disc, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, and new flywheel. I have the (a) damaged pressure plate and clutch disc FWIW. I'm...

Re: Noise from clutch

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll take a look in the morning and see if I can find anything out of sorts with the clips or TO bearing.

Re: Noise from clutch

Thanks Josh. I'm leaning towards incorrect work done as well. When I picked up the car it acted like dead battery. I jumped it and came home, only to find out the next day that the main ground to engine block had missing bolt and therefore not grounded. I managed to get the car back to them and had ...

Re: Noise from clutch

wtdash, thanks for the welcome. That's crazy that you're from n. Id, I've lived over 20 years in Cda' & Sandpoint. You're probably right on the cable since I'm pretty sure that is original. All hindsight aside, I had the clutch done at a Midas, Meineke type place and I have a feeling that might ...

Noise from clutch

Hi everyone, first post here. I'm having some noise from clutch area that I'll do my best to describe. First off, I have a '93 Legacy L 5-speed w/189k. I tired the search feature but wasn't having much direct luck. I'm hearing a rubbing, whirring noise, kind of between a growl and a hiss (like a &qu...
