Re: Kookookachew's Legacy L build

Haha yup, exactly! That's why I have turbo injectors and rails, that I know will be plenty of fuel and I'll be wiring in a PP6 for tuning

Re: Kookookachew's Legacy L build

Well, I'm running an N/A ECU, injectors and MAF, so I'm not surprised it's running lean at 11 lbs of boost. Are you talking about a Legacy SS?

Re: Kookookachew's Legacy L build

I do, and have had since I turbo'd, a Walbro 255 installed. It was one of the first things I did, mainly because it was incredibly easy...

Re: Kookookachew's Legacy L build

I did realize that an exhaust with less back-pressure would increase boost and lower time needed to spool, but I never though that just a muffler, and one originally equipped on a turbo car, would create such a difference!! But hey, I'm not complaining, I certainly like the additional boost, and the...

Re: Kookookachew's Legacy L build

Also, forgot to mention for anyone interested... After I swapped out the POS stock '02 WRX muffler with just a cheap 3A Racing garbage straight-through muffler I gained ALOT of boost... I don't exactly understand it, but I could never touch over 6lbs on waste-gate before, since then I've hit over 11...

Re: Kookookachew's Legacy L build

Updates updates updates.... Well, its been a couple more months since I last posted anything in here. Just like to start off by saying that this tough little Subaru is still running strong!! I did have a bit of trouble with a speeding ticket  and posted it up for sale, I had some great guys mak...

^^^ They are 205-40-16. Too short of a sidewall IMHO, Id rather run 45 or 50 series sidewalls, but they were on the wheels when I got them.

Re: Kookookachew's Legacy L build

Not too bad, just set it on the hood, measured it out so it was equidistant from side to side and about where a scoop would sit, and then marked with a pencil and took a 4 1/2" angle grinder with cutoff wheel to the hood. I had to make "notches" in the hood where the scoop mounts woul...

Re: 93 Legacy Turbo 5-speed RWD RUST FREE!!!

Well, I've decided not to sell it! I just can't do it, I like the car too much. I opted to instead sell just the coil-overs, which I haven't been crazy about anyway, I'm just not a low-car person.

So mods, if you like, please delete/lock

Thanks a bunch, I'm actually really bummed about having to sell it, I'll really miss it, especially after putting so much time and effort into it. But its just time I guess

(Save)93 Legacy Turbo 5-speed RWD RUST FREE!!!

Hey Folks, its a sad day but I've got to let the project Leggy go. Location: Central/Northern NY Price: Asking 2600 or BO Drivetrain: EJ22 High-compression turbo build with VF11 runing wastegate (~5 psi), bugeye intercooler etc (AFRs are perfect, no knock ever) '03 Forester 5-speed with welded cente...

Re: Kookookachew's Legacy L build

Haha tight corners are a bit interesting as you'd expect. Just feel some solid binding, and hear some scuffs and chirps from the tires, but thats about it. Surprisingly though, medium to high speed corners are much better. I haven't had a chance to change out the lateral links and bolt in the WRX sw...

Re: Kookookachew's Legacy L build

Broken down in Marathon Ny... Made it the 10 hour drive from Potsdam to Ocean City, Md. Beat the crap out of the poor thing Friday-Monday down there, and then made it within 75 miles of my house on the way back. Started shaking really badly and making alot of noise from the back of the car after a s...

Re: Kookookachew's Legacy L build

Once I got it running and driving I threw on a set of Raceland coilovers, they are super cheap, but not absolutely terrible. Much better than some of the VW kits, they at least have independent height and preload adjustment, although the damping is terrible and there is no adjustment for it. But It ...

Re: Kookookachew's Legacy L build

That was it for work at home, but I also spent a good chunk of the summer and my internship money on go-fast parts ;) Slowly collected parts for the turbo build and manual swap.... Its now a Turbo EJ22N/A Running 6 psi, more to come. And it is also a 5 speed and RWD with welded center and rear diffs...

Re: Kookookachew's Legacy L build

Front lip is off of an old Volvo I found in the junkyard, $5 later and a few screws later and it was on! No molding, modification needed. Side skirts are from a '00-'04 Outback wagon, cut a couple of inches out of the backs to make the length correct

Re: Kookookachew's Legacy L build

Well guys, its time to update this long-neglected thread... ALOT has happened to this little Subaru, you would never even know it is the same car... Over the summer I stripped the car of all of its panels, and stripped each panel down to bare metal. Straightened what I could, Replaced two of the doo...

Re: Any "common" Subaru fuel rails that will fit 22T injecto

Haha I have no real knowledge on the comparison of the injectors either, I was just trying to follow in the steps of someones proven successful, well-documented build. But I'm defintiely happy about being able to stick with the original heads, like I said it saves me some head-aches, keeps everythin...

Re: Any "common" Subaru fuel rails that will fit 22T injecto

Ok awesome info, thanks a bunch, its unbelievably helpful to have someone actually confirm something instead of just reading countless threads. I had just assumed that despite the few peple that have done it, running the EJ22e with its original heads would be asking for trouble in terms of reliabili...

Re: Any "common" Subaru fuel rails that will fit 22T injecto

Ok awesome, thanks for those. Its been some very good reading. Definitely seems like it could be an option depending on the cost. I know this may sound like a dumb question, but is there any decent places to get an EJ20G ECU? Or would I just have to scour the forums for one? Oh, and what would be th...

Re: Any "common" Subaru fuel rails that will fit 22T injecto

On a separate note, are EJ22T Injectors high or low impedance? I've read some Nissan topfeeds from a CA18DET from an S13 are 370cc and low impedance. There are also some top feeds from a 3000GT/Stealth Turbo that are 360cc topfeeds and low impedance. I'll have to do some reading on using non-Subaru ...

Re: Any "common" Subaru fuel rails that will fit 22T injecto

Hmm, not what I wanted to hear :P So in Meyagi's build that I read on mainlysubarus he mentioned using a 2.2 manifold from a '00 OBS on his 2.5L heads. So I'm assuming then that those newer 2.2Ls are a different bolt pattern as well? Anyway, does anyone know of any 370cc topfeed injectors that could...

Any "common" Subaru fuel rails that will fit 22T injectors?

So, I've searched and couldn't exactly find what I'm looking for. But if I missed it just let me know please. Anyway, heres the background. I'm planning on doing a turbo build to my now N/A '93 L. I was planning on following meyagi's "Ken Block" budget Impreza beater build by means of runn...
