Re: EJ22T Pistons
Looking forward to further updates! You said the piston tops ended up 0.12 in the hole (~3mm)? When you clayed the combustion chamber, how much clearance did you have to the valves? From what I'm reading, a 79mm crank would work perfectly and give a nice bump to compression. Edit: http://www.csgnetw...

Cars been sitting for a while... Clutch won't release
My 92 ss has been sitting for about 6 months without being moved. Just went outside to move it and it will not go into any gear. The fluid is full, the pedal is firm (like it was before it was parked) and it returns just fine. With the engine off, I can get the trans to shift into ant gear, so I don...

Re: CEL Several Check Engine Codes
Ok, I ran the "D-check" as described on the surreal mirage page. No codes while I was just cruising around the neighborhood, but when I got on it, code 22 popped up. Knock sensor replacement isn't expensive or difficult, so I'm good there. I'm still concerned that the other codes didn't cl...

CEL Several Check Engine Codes
I decided to finally pull my gauge cluster last night to see if my speedo issues were cable related. When I got it all apart, i noticed that the bulb for the CEL wasn't there. I replaced the bulb, got the speedo cable fixed, put it all back together and started her up. The good news: speedo fixed Th...

OR: wtb ej22t short block
My legacy has developed a concerning knock on cold starts. Since its my only form of transportation, I can't afford to have it down while I rebuild the current engine. I'd like to buy a 22t short block or complete. Would prefer one that doesn't need rebuilt, but that's in no way a deal breaker. I'm ...

Re: Koyo & Mishimoto Radiator Failures!!! (Legacy Turbo Mode
My wife's 92 radiator just blew and I was quoted about $140 for a replacement from O'Reilly auto parts (former checker, schucks kragen) ; anyone have experience with these replacements or should I just go to the stealership? Also, has anyone ever considered welding aluminum end tanks to an old stock...

Re: WTB: Looking to buy RS Type RA or Touring Wagon STi
You're correct about the date of manufacture. And I wish you the best of luck on your search. While I was in Japan this summer I didn't see a single first gen on the road. Actually the only first gens I saw were completely overgrown in a field next to a rally shop. When I asked to purchase parts off...

OK. And the exhaust side? It looks to be something like a v-band setup, but I'm not sure about a gasket there either

compressor housing removal?
I have a used td05h and I'd like to inspect the compressor wheel more closely as well as do some cleaning. Is there any gasket material that seals the housing to the center section? I just don't want to pull the snap ring off and find out that I need to buy a full rebuild kit.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Bypass The Compressor For Quicker Spool?
This seems so simple its almost too good to be true. I'm constantly thinking of twin charging and different sized twin turbo setups, but all of those involve multiple valves, solenoids and ecu programming. I want to see it in action with a before and after comparison.

Re: Sputtered and now won't fire - Fuel Pump?
I feel like an idiot. I bypassed the connection under the rear seat and it fired up first try. I would suggest everyone do this even if the plug looks to be in good shape.

Re: Sputtered and now won't fire - Fuel Pump?
I tested the relay using the green clips by the ecu and I clicked like mad when I turned it over. Is it possible its still not working correctly?

Re: Sputtered and now won't fire - Fuel Pump?
Alright guys and gals, just installed a new 255 pump and still nothing. I can hear the solenoid click under the dash, but no prime from the pump. Going to delete the connector under the seat.
What else might it be?

Re: Sputtered and now won't fire - Fuel Pump?
Is there a way to test the pump itself, not the voltage to the pump? Like partially pulling the pump out and disconnecting the feed line to the fuel rails? I would think that if the relay can't get pressure it would continue to try until it did. Meaning if nothing happens, no attempt to prime, then ...

I can definitely sell you the IC, but the other td05 I found was in bad shape (shaft didn't want to spin freely and there was rain water in the compressor housing)

Re: turbo swap info needed
I picked up a silver slanty with the aluminum charge pipe, the SA badged ecu, Sti nardi wheel, td05h and a few other small parts. No handling goodies yet, but control arms and the like are a dime a dozen here The owner of the yard only charged ¥10000 (~$100.00)!!! I had already bought a Sti slanty w...

Re: turbo swap info needed
Sorry for bringing this back from the dead... But I'm in Japan, standing in a junk yard, and staring at an intact v1 STi!!!! There is also what I think is a v2 a few feet away. I'm getting the td05h turbo, slanty ic, intake elbow with bpv, ecu, maf, and what I think is an hks built aluminum "co...
