Re: WTB: Legacy ss 5spd in Ontario
Have you been actively looking? I bought a manual winestone SS in Scarborough a few years ago. I’ve seen a few come up on FB marketplace but they disappear quick. i'm in Oregon and it's actually kinda insane how these have dried up. Feels like just 5 years ago these would pop up every once in awhil...

Re: Enduring Solutions ECU board and why you should buy it
Also, even though ESL mentioned their chip being able to run wasted spark (on a facebook post from a few years back), I did not see that option in the software. You'll have to run an ignition converter, just like with the robtune. If you have dohc heads, it's a perfect excuse to upgrade to coil-on-...

Re: Cam options for 25D heads
I'd be interested to know if rallispec has any around or if you'd have to wait for them to come from RCM. One of the kelfords is listed at one of my distributors but is out of stock. Might be worth sending kelford an email to see if the still make them or have any around. If I could bring any in th...

Re: Cam options for 25D heads
I'm running Kelford 272's in my EJ25D heads. That was the only company I could find at the time that made cams for EJ20K/25D heads. I don't know if they still make them though. I thought I read something that Kelford was going to stop producing them. How long ago was that? Their site has nothing li...

Re: Cam options for 25D heads
I've read through some 25D conversion threads but if anyone knows of a super complete thread I'd love a link or two. Are the 96 25D heads what I should be looking for? This is the most comprehensive thread you will find in regards to phase 1 DOHC info on this forum, most other info is scattered fro...

Not that I don't believe you but do you have any info to back that up? I know the 25D heads are very similar if not the same as 20R heads so I wouldn't be surprised.mike-tracy wrote:Unless you have a hard on for aftermarket, Ej20R cams are the same as ej20k.

Re: Cam options for 25D heads
Tomei, JUN, Roger Clark Motorsports, TechWorks, and Kelford have or had offered off the shelf Cam's for the JDM ver.4 STi ej20k/USDM ej25d. Or alternatively, Delta Cam's, Web Cam's, and Kelford offer regrinding services. Finding OEM JDM ej20k Cam's is a great option, one of, if not the hottest cam ...

Cam options for 25D heads
So my hybrid build will be coming out soon, and figured I should look at cam options while there's easy access.
What options are there out their for cams? I know EJ20k cams fit, but they aren't too easy to track down. Tomei? Anyone else make them?

Re: Phase 1 ej25d head flow numbers
Anyone that has used 25D heads know they are very capable. I have them mated to a 257 shortblock and they run really well. A few mechanics that drove my car estimated 330whp or so. I had dyno numbers close to that as well but they have a lot more room for more power I think. Hopefully next year I'll...

you can't go wrong with rotella t6 synthetic. it's cheap (for a synthetic) and great. i wouldn't run anything else. I ran it in my legacy, run it in my tacoma, and will run it in my next subaru once it's rebuilt.

you can go with an enduring solutions board too, especially if you ever want to or have plans to modify your engine beyond a robutine. it also saves you the hassle of doing the ignition conversion since you can run wasted spark.

Re: Enduring Solutions ECU board and why you should buy it
Ha, yeah, the one that I know had cold start issues both before and after was Mike Tracy's car. I did a full EJ20G swap in a '94 SS with 550s and a RobTune for another friend of mine and he had the same issue. I ran this setup on the pretty much stock 6K map. We modified the injector scale and the ...

Re: Enduring Solutions ECU board and why you should buy it
For both my EJ20G ECUs (on my Legacys), if it got below 40°, they'd Start>Stop>Start run OK. After swapping the CTS and reading online that they're cold-blooded, I basically gave up (but chronicled what else I tried @ the bottom of my EJ20G Thread). For what it's worth, Rob's tunes fix this problem...

Re: Enduring Solutions ECU board and why you should buy it
Maintaining factory cold start reliability is a joke when a factory EJ20G ECU can't keep the car running in cold weather. I'd rather have a standalone any day whether its a Link, Haltech, MegaSquirt or others. The ESL board does look like a decent step for those who want an intermediate solution th...

Re: Enduring Solutions ECU board and why you should buy it
I have a few questions about this system. Since I am new to these older legacies, I just acquired a 91 SS, what is this 20G ECU that is being talked about? I have tried a search but I guess I dont really know what I am looking for. I also see that on the site there are a few options, Im assuming I ...
