Re: Rebuild factory 5MT or swap in another 5MT?
Also, could I just as easily go with a modern N/A transmission, or does the fact that a transmission comes from a turbo car make that much of a difference? Which came with hydraulic clutch? Finally, if I do finally retrofit a newer trans, how hard is the switch from push style to pull style clutch? ...

Rebuild factory 5MT or swap in another 5MT?
I have a 1993 Subaru Legacy Sport Sedan Assuming the factory transmission. What's easier? Cheaper? Stronger? I will research costs, but want to understand my options. This is to be done on a tight budget, so I'm looking for easiest way to get the strongest possible factory 5MT in there or rebuild or...

Add me to list for Post Facelift lights and corners. I have a USDM post facelift model, so I guess I'd need the corners to go along with the headlights.

I can't wait to put them to good use. 17x8's with a 48mm offset should clear I imagine.
I had to edit it after I looked them up.

Re: 4/2-Pot Brake Discussion
Actually, I forgot to mention in my original post that the front rotors are the bigger diameter 316 x 30 mm thick rotors from the 2005 + Legacy GT as opposed to the 294 x 24 or 295 x 25.5 front rotor from the WRX. That's why I felt that I needed to shift some of the brake bias to the back with dissi...

Re: 4/2-Pot Brake Discussion
Josh, I'd love to hear your take on the setup that's going on my car, since you put up all that brake math in the past. I've got the whole Nissan 300ZX setup for the front and rear. I'm using the front caliper brackets from KNS and the rear caliper brackets from Godspeed. The rotors are stock style ...

Re: Anti-Surge Housings offer any advantages on our cars?
From what I understand, the anti-surge porting allows excess pressure in the compressor side that cannot be used by the engine, or cannot flow past a more restrictive exhaust housing to flow back into the intake tract rather than stall the compressor wheel. It sounds to me like it would allow the tu...

Anti-Surge Housings offer any advantages on our cars?
Could anti-surge be of any use with the turbos typically used in our Legacys? Should I end that with an ies, instead of a ys? Questions to ponder. But seriously if I was installing a VF22 compressor / VF34 turbine hybrid, billet aluminum compressor wheel with extended tips, and ceramic coating on ex...

Re: Dankberries 1993 Impreza ej23t/25d build
How did you get Nissan 4 pot fronts and 2 pot rears for $200.00 in rebuilt condition? I paid $225.00 for front and rear total, but they need to be rebuilt. The rears were nicely powdercoated though. I did not get the Aluminum front calipers. Mine are iron. Also, I'm sure plenty of people would be in...

Re: Hypothetical question about handling dynamics.
You would use the same principal as Electric Power Steering except pumping water into a chamber. You would adjust the static LPH rate and the progressive gain based on wheel position to get the right balance. Of course, going opposite lock would then cause it to go the "wrong" direction ag...

Re: Can I drive if coolant reservoir for turbo rusted and br
Can't I simply bypass it, drive it home, then replace the reservoir with a good original? Of course I would buy one from one of you fine people. Yes, the turbo would be strictly oil cooled in the meantime. That's OK. I wouldn't be abusing it, and I'd let it idle to cool down before I shut it off. I'...
