Re: hard start issues(diagnosed possibilities w/ no luck)

Fuel Pressure regulator is attached to the end of the passenger side fuel rail, right next to the turbo. I would definitely do a fuel pressure check, but if you are changing the pump it would only really be checking the FPR. Our emissions systems were relatively simple, so I highly doubt that one o...

Re: hard start issues(diagnosed possibilities w/ no luck)

K guys, swapped the coolant temp sensor and cleared the computer.... Car still is hard to start and sort of sputters when it finally starts up, then clears up. Once at normal operating temp it he hard starts aren't so bad.

Any ideas? Check fuel pressure ? Any valves or other sensors to check?

here is one of the threads.....

http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1142

when I tried the actuator back and forth it seemed as if something was going to break. it make a cracking sound so I stopped before I broke it. it doesn't seem like its supposed to move free.

Re: A/C is currently INOP!

also, forgot to mention I DO NOT hear any solenoids clicking as mention in some threads. Also I can hear the solenoid under the dash clicking when I turn on the a/c and turn it off so im pretty sure that that's ok.

A/C is currently INOP!

In the midst of trying to resolve a hard start issue my A/C started cutting off as in no blower function or air flowing from any vents...... So I hooked up mu gauges and checked my pressures, swapped around relays that control the a/c functions in the relay/fuse box and also inspected any loose or b...

Re: hard start issues(diagnosed possibilities w/ no luck)

You can d/l the service manual from me, It'll have the info on the cts. Check out the stuff you need to know forum for a link to my server. I will say however that checking the resistance sometimes shows it's ok, but it's still bad. They are around $20 from one of the online dealers, so I usually j...

Re: Need specs on SOHC swap to Australian DOHC heads

I have that problem right now. Low compression and poor off boost power. Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2 hmmmm... well essentially less compression = you can run more boost, however its how quick we can get it to make boost will be the main issue. may be a re ground set of cams in these ej20...

Re: hard start issues(diagnosed possibilities w/ no luck)

Coolant temp sensor. I'd suggest replacing it, as it affects a lot of temperature related ECU functions, especially starting. hey Josh, yeah from what I have read the coolant temp sensor seems to give the ECU quite a hard time when its bad Can I check the ohms and see what the resistance is to tell...

Re: hard start issues(diagnosed possibilities w/ no luck)

Soooo... Iv had this car going on 2 weeks now. recently developed a hard start issue. I checked plugs, pulled injectors, I can hear the fuel pump come on, changed the fuel filter, all the sensors look fairly new. The engine spins over fast but just takes a noticeably longer time to start, then the ...

Re: Need specs on SOHC swap to Australian DOHC heads

The compression will drop because the heads have larger chamber. If you machine the heads more than the Subaru recommended maximum, you will adversely effect the cam timing because the cam sprockets will now be closer to the crank pulley, but the timing belt is the same length. The only proper way ...

So anyone have any recommendations where to install a boost gauge and keep a semi factory look? any other time I would mount a new pillar, or cut whatever while still keeping it looking good of course..... this 91 SS has a 90 out of 100 interior and id like to keep it near stock looking as possible....

Re: Need specs on SOHC swap to Australian DOHC heads

The gentleman that I bought the car from they would need to be machined for compression reasons. I thought less compression = more boost you can run???? Could he have possibly said that in case there might be a vent valve? That could be the compression issue the gentleman was speaking of. I have no...
