Re: Starter issues.
Got and installed a push button from cj91legss.
It acted up when using the ignition so I got over and press the button and it worked great! So we'll see how things go over the next few months. I hope this is the end of it!

Re: Starter issues.
I've have gotten 5 alternaterd in a row that lasted less than 90 days for my wife's car. They were all different brands also reman and new. So it possible the contacts in that starter not lining up properly with the plunger and a switch is not going to fix that. I would find a used oem over a reman...

Re: Starter issues.
Not exactly the same, but I got 3 bad reman clutch slave cylinders in a row :( Which is possible. I'm starting to have a hard time believing I've just gotten fucked 3 times in a row. So I'm going to go a different route which many people have done as well. People with the problem such as mine have ...

Re: Front mount.
Ideally I'd like to do a FMIC but I could do a AWIC. I'd like to do that slim FMIC someone linked and hook it up then take it to a shop and have them fab up some piping. I just can't get a single reply from anyone who might be able to do this... They just read what I have to say and ignore it. Are ...

Re: Front mount.
AWIC is the best of both worlds, but even it requires some bumper beam cutting to get a decent size exchanger in there. The bottom line is you won't find anything off the shelf....and anything you do will require some modification. How much might it cost to do everything? I'd imagine I'll have to d...

Front mount.
I want to front mount my car eventually but I'd like to keep my bumper and my oem jdm fogs. What intercooler might I be able to go with to do this? A few people I've talked to just say good luck. I've also thought about buying an intercooler and having a shop custom make my piping. Every shop I've a...

Re: Starter issues.
The neutral switch wouldn't keep you from starting. The starter interlock circuit could though. It's very possible you could get a bad reman solenoid. You could take the cap off the solenoid and make sure the contacts are square and line up properly with the plunger. Right. Next thing i thought wou...

Re: Taillight issues
3-4 days ago I took the wires and spread them apart for the mean time and no fuse blew when before they were all touching it blew instantly or within 20-30minutes. took the wheel and fender off today and fixed the problem. I also tucked the wires against the body with zip ties cause the oem clips th...

Re: Starter issues.
Ok, well keep us posted on whether it acts up or not. Acted up again today. I pushed the clutch pedal in and out 3-4 times along with the key in and out of the ignition 3-4 times and it worked. Not sure if it's just luck or not but Might I have a bad neutral safety switch? What's the chance of gett...

Re: Taillight issues
Not having a fender liner is why your wires are messed up Matt. Might be a good idea to track some down. Right but I need to figure out how to get to those wires. It broke and it's up in a whole somewhere Never said you did. When you ask a question in regards to how you are going to go about gettin...

I plan on taking the fender off if weather cooperates today to find the side marker wires. I honestly think I just mis judged where the wires were coming from.Legacy777 wrote:Here are some more pictures of the stock wiring with the fenders off.

Re: Taillight issues
We've been talking about this on FB, I didn't realize you had bare wiring on or around your front corner lights. If you have bare wiring, then yes you're going to short out and not all the time. I think it's time to pull the fender liners and look at the harness and inspect for more bare wires. BUT...

Re: Taillight issues
Well, that wont help your issue with the tail lights. You can use a silicone to seal them once you get them sorted and cleaned. If I can't get some EDM ones I might just buy these come payday Also if the cornerlights were the issue wouldn't my turn signal fuse be blowing too? http://www.ebay.com/it...

Re: Taillight issues
the condensation is a problem too, that's not helping your situation Right and I plan on replacing the corner lights soon. I have EDM headlights on the way and I hear it's not a bad idea to get a set of EDM cornerlights to match. But I hear USDM ones just need a slight bit of modification. This is ...

Re: Taillight issues
The harness looks clean and so does everything else. I also don't have a multimeter so I'm a bit at a loss, also not good with wiring at all. As I said in the PM to you I found exposed wiring to the right side marker (Body side harness). The wires were exposed but when I went to look farther back in...

Re: Taillight issues
As mentioned in my PM, you've got a short somewhere and based on your description it's probably in the right rear where the rear wiring harness is routed. Remove the rear panels to get access to the wiring loom and look for bare wires or burnt smelling wiring. For sure. If the wires end up being go...

Taillight issues
I'm having issues with my taillights and I'm not really sure of the issue. Essentially my taillight fuse will blow once every month to month and a half. Generally I'm able to replace the fuse a few days later and itll work fine. But tonight I tried to replace it instantly as it blew and I blew 2 new...

Re: Starter issues.
Also where is the starter relay located? It's almost like its not getting enough power. The starter solenoid is the relay. The starter solenoid is mounted directly to the starter motor. If the wiring/grounds were bad/rusty that could be causing your issue. Did replacing the cables and cleaning the ...

Re: Starter issues.
Hi, Have you tested the Alternator? TD Haven't tested it But I got it from Subaru a bit over a year ago. Does your car have a manual or automatic transmission? You could try removing the back cover on the starter solenoid to see how the plunger and contacts look. I have some pictures towards the bo...
