Re: 4.44 swap near completion
So still no luck with the car starting up. I have charged it for a few hours and tried it as well as jumped the car. I ran the serial number by subaru and it is for sure a 4.44 phase 1 as well. Every thing as far as i can tell is plugged in correctly as well. For some reason though the car will not ...

Re: 4.44 swap near completion
ok so my car is an automatic and I swapped it for a 98 sus tranny. It should be a phase 1 tranny but just to be sure i am having subaru run the serial number just to make sure. I could not find a definitive answer on the internet but maybe that would explain the car not starting up.... As for the re...

4.44 swap near completion
So after way longer than it should have taken I am finishing my 4.44 auto swap! The threads here have been extremely helpful and I thought I would just share some of my own knowledge. All in all it is a very easy install if one has the proper tools. The transmission was by far the most tedious of th...

Re: 440 swap question
We ran the serial number and it is a phase 1 so we got it in the nick of time. And the speedo isn't a big deal for me. I know they sell correctors you just hook up to the speedometer line behind the dash for like 30 bucks. Or just slap out back suspension on it and some meaty tires to contract the w...

440 swap question
Hello everyone my auto trans just went out today and was reading codes 14 and 15 which are shift solenoid's 1 and 2. Dropping the tranny and getting it repaired was going to cost a lotttt of money and I have a friend who has a tranny off a 98 (i believe) legacy sus. He would give it to me for cheep ...

Re: Timing Belt Replacement Please Help!!
After putting in another few hours today trying to line up everything still nothing.. I had both notches lined up the best we could get it (one cam was directly lined up while the other was maybe off by half a notch and the crank shaft was dead on) but still no ignition. I'm believe something else i...

Re: Timing Belt Replacement Please Help!!
I do have power to accessories when I put the key in and when I turn the key it cranks but does not turn over. You can smell fuel and when we would pull out a spark plug it was wet with fuel. I'm going to try lining everything up one more time and if that doesn't work I believe something else is at ...

I've been replacing my timing belt on my 92 legacy turbo wagon. I have the two notches on the camshaft pulleys lined up with the notches on the cover and the white paint from the belt and the crank shaft is lined up as well, with piston 1 at tdc, but when ever I try to start the thing it wont turn o...

Re: Crank shaft pulley question
Thanks every one! I recommend using a socket then bumping the engine. Also I would heat up the bolt with a propane torch. We tried using an air gun but that bolt was on there really good.

Re: Transmission code question
Ok I checked it and it was showing 33 which is the 2 speed sensor, which makes sense because my speedometer stopped working. When you turn on your car and the power light is flashing that is not a code which is what threw me off it blinks 16 times no matter what.

Hey everyone, i just finished replacing my transmission in my 92 Legacy Wagon and something went wrong with the starter. When I turn the key to start it, the starter just makes a buzzing noise but doesn't click or start up the car, just a soft buzzing. Im wondering if this is a wiring mistake or som...

Transmission swap for 92 turbo touring wagon
Hello I just bought a 92 automatic turbo legacy touring wagon with a bad transmission. The only gears I have are 3rd and reverse which seemed odd. So we went and bought a tranny off a 99 Legacy sus and were thinking about putting it in the wagon. I was wondering if any one knew how hard of a job thi...
