Re: Electrical glitch w/ video and pics - 1994, EJ22, Non-Tu

UPDATE: Today I visited the bone yard. I got a used IAC. Back at the house I plugged it in and found that it DID NOT fix my problem of the chattering clicking and buzzing under the hood. Nothing has changed. However, something changed... Today I cranked the motor over and over and it finally came to...

Re: Electrical glitch w/ video and pics - 1994, EJ22, Non-Tu

If you remove the electrical connector on the IAC valve and try starting the car, does it start? The idle will likely be really high, but it should run. As for the relay clicking, that is a bit weird. Did you find anything on the ground or power supply wiring? The ECU grounds to the back side of th...

Re: Electrical glitch w/ video and pics - 1994, EJ22, Non-Tu

Sounds like you have the green and black ecm check wires connected. They are the ones down by the steering column they should be disconnect unless you are checking codes. That will cause the clicking of solenoids and fans to cycle off and on. The two diagnostic connections are not hooked up. I have...

Electrical glitch w/ video and pics - 1994, EJ22, Non-Turbo

Hello, I have a tricky electrical issue. The first video is looking at my gauge cluster. The ignition key is turned to the RUN position, and then this weird collection of solenoids, relays, fans, starter motor, injector clicks and check engine light will just go wild. https://youtu.be/EmD6QFJwcQA Th...

Re: No Injector Pulse EJ22 1992 Leg Wag

I'm happy to report that the problem has been solved. Unfortunately the solution was sort of a mystery. I was checking continuity between all harness subsections. The electrical connection between the motor and the firewall, I think, is where the problem lay. I think it wascorroded connection, or a ...

Re: Ignition starter switch part number???

Yesterday, I decided to visit the local wrecking yard. I discovered that 90-94 wagons came with both style switches. There were 6 Legacy's at this yard. 4 had 4 wire switches and two had 5 wire switches. The 5 wire switch was in a Manual & Automatic. Here are some pics of what I need and what I ...

Re: No Injector Pulse EJ22 1992 Leg Wag

OK, so we have some more hints to the problem of the lack of Injector Pulse. We have a running 94 Legacy Wagon and compared readings from it with the readings from the 92 wagon. What we found was that the Electrical voltages at the Fuel Injectors are different. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7710/26...

Ignition starter switch part number???

Hi, I have a 1992 Legacy Wagon, 2.2L N/A, Manual Trans. I discovered that I need a new starter switch. I'm trying to sort out a fuel injector pulse problem. The switch must have been next to dead. With all this starting and key twisting I broke the switch. I need the part number for the switch with ...

Re: No Injector Pulse EJ22 1992 Leg Wag

Verify the timing is on. Also, I didn't see you mention it, but did you use the good battery from the 94 to rule out that as a factor? Thank you for your reply. I dont feel that I need to check the timing marks. The reason for this, is that when I spray fuel into the intake manifold, the motor runs...

Re: No Injector Pulse EJ22 1992 Leg Wag

UPDATE: I read a post about cleaning the Idle Air Control Valve (code 24). I removed the valve and found that it was sort of dirty, but the valve moved with ease. after cleaning it retested the ohms. Pins A - B - C A + C = 19ohms A+B = 9ohms B+C = 9ohms These values are identical to the IACV found i...

No Injector Pulse EJ22 1992 Leg Wag

Hello, I have a 1992 Legacy Wagon, EJ22, AWD, N/A. A few days ago the motor simply didnt fire up and has not fired up since. The wagon has not had any motor work done to it for over 3 years. No recent accidents either. Its been a great running & reliable machine. I maintain it myself. What I've ...

Re: '93 Legacy MT clutch replacement, shifter bushings (+Pic

Great tech article. Great pics too. I am about to do a clutch and thought I'd pull the tranny rather than the motor. I assumed the tranny had less stuff connected to it. But after seeing this, I think I'm going to pull the motor. However, changing the shift bushings is on my list for sure. If you st...

WHEEL / TIRE OPTIONS FOR 1994 WAGON, NON TURBO, STOCK, 5SPD.

I apologize if this topic has been covered before. I've done some searches on this forum and have not come up with an answer that works for me. My stock 1994 non turbo Legacy wagon with 5 speed could use some nice wheels and tires. I want to buy used to save some $$$. I purchased a set of wheels / t...

Re: Looking for Wheel/Tire size advice for a '93 wagon

I see that this thread is as good as dead, but I was hoping to know what casezilla decided to go with. I have a bone stock 1994 Legacy Wagon NA 2.2 motor. I bought a set of 1997 Outback wheels and tires and they rubbed on my front strut, right where the shock flares out to support the spring. I woul...

FOG LIGHT MOUNTING FRONT BUMPER L-WAGON

Hi. I searched and searched this forum and others and have not found an answer to my question. How are you guys mounting fog lights to your front bumpers? Not JDM style, just plain old fog lights or driving lights. PIAA, HELLA, BAJA any brand - Round or Rectangular. My wagon is heading up the mounta...
