Re: 45 degree air box, and N/A cars

Well it would make sense as engineering increased with time.

Re: No start after timing belt tensioner failed

So the car sat for almost 2 months. I was talking to a friend about it and he said check compression. So I checked compression (165psi average) and then also checked timing. Both were good so put everything back together and the car started right up. Had not changed anything and it suddenly works. A...

Re: No start after timing belt tensioner failed

Code 31 is the only one coming up now, throttle sensor. Which I thought was impossible to adjust if the cat was not running, is that correct?

I had no check engine lights or as such. Right before it happened the car ran perfectly.

Re: No start after timing belt tensioner failed

I guess I should also metion that the car just, died, then the tensioner failed. Not sure if that is something that happens or not, and then it would not start after that. I thought it was ring inf and I'm pretty sure it was off by 8-9 teeth, so I replaced the tensioner. It had a son coilpack on it ...

Timing is not off, and I know I used the correct mark on the sprocket. The sensor is also working correctly.

No start after timing belt tensioner failed

So like the title says, the tensioner failed and I replaced it. Used the correct timing marks, all that. I get fuel, and the crank and cam sensors work. I need to check for spark as I had no way of checking last night. Is there anything else I might be missing?

Best odyssey battery

So I've searched here and the internet, but can't find what i'm looking for exactly. I was wondering what odyssey batteries you guys use for DD's and how well they work for people in colder climates. I live in new mexico, where, yes it gets hot in the summer; but also extremely cold in the winters (...

I believe I just found the part here: https://www.subarupartsdepot.com/oem-subaru-parts.html as well.

EDIT: Yep, same part, answered my own question. Sorry for the unneeded post.

new crankshaft sprocket

So a while back my crankshaft pulley got all messed up, fixed that. But I noticed that when I took everything off, that my crankshaft sprocket (the one that is used for timing) was worn out around where it lines up with the woodruff key. So I've been searching everywhere to find a new OEM one and th...

Or I might just swap the stock top hats with whatever is on the rears right now, and see if that helps at all.

Re: Lowering a high rear end

Yeah, I agree that does look a little bit high. Are you positive everything is seated/installed properly with the springs/struts? Without taking the springs/struts (mainly the struts) it'd be difficult to test/compare. Do you still have the stock struts/springs? I'd be curious what the ride height ...

Re: What did you do to your Subie today?

Didn't do anything, but trying to get a WRX mid-pipe welded to an new donut flange to fit the forester cat. I finally found a fozzy cat to go with the borla replica headers, so stuff is moving along I guess. Also fixed my over heating by installing new electric fans and then having hooked up to a st...

Re: What did you do to your Subie today?

Have a friend who has a 2013 BRZ, he just got new RPF1's so we are gonna see if his stock wheels and tires will do me any good for autox this coming weekend. 17x7 wheels and 215/45R17 tires should fit right? I was under the impression they are the same size as WRX wheels. Will post pictures regardle...

Re: Stuttering/bogging under load UNDER 2k rpm (FIXED)

So the problem is FIXED. The issue manifested itself I. The form of a wobbly crank pulley. It would not wobble at idle, but revving the engine showed it was in fact wobbling hard. The bolt had come undone so much thatthe car would not start and just crank till the battery died. So me and my friends ...

Re: Stuttering/bogging under load UNDER 2k rpm

Yeah, gonna hopefully be checking timing tonight, I didn't set the ting last time someone else did but I'm sure they knew what was what when I came to timing. As for a vacuum leak, really at this point it could be anything. And to answer the last one.. Kind of. It still bogs, just not as bad. Under ...

Radiator cooling fan relay location

Real quick, I was wondering if anyone knows where the cooling fan relays are? I've seen posts about HVAC relays for the blower motor, but I'm not looking for those, just the relays for the cooling fans.

Re: Stuttering/bogging under load UNDER 2k rpm

I will have to check that Josh. So I took the car to the dealership today and even they columdt figure out what the problem was, so now I'm pretty frustrated. I know someone on here had the same problem, and it was timing related. Also my crank pulley wobbles, so I need to check that as well. The ca...

Re: Stuttering/bogging under load UNDER 2k rpm

Pin 3 gave me 0 ohms. sorry, I have no idea why I didn't include that one.

So I went ahead and re-did test 3 and pins 1-4 were all 0 ohms this time.
