Re: Front lip for S1 GT bumper.

Work continued today on the front lip project. Earlier in the week I went and got some JB Weld plastic bonder. This shit is superb! I hacked up my pre-facelift BG lip and used it as a re-inforcing mount and to join the two halves. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/33918237398_9cb58c8f0f_b.jpg IMG_...

Front lip for S1 GT bumper.

So a number of weeks ago I put a thread up on the ol Dirty Ol BC facebook group asking for ideas on front lips for the S1's. There's plenty of options for the S2, but I haven't seen many for the S1. Well to my surprise there were plenty of options back in the day out of japan, I was quite impressed....

Re: Facelifted rear end on pre facelift car

Subaru actaully changed the chassis between S1 and S2... You can't swap the bits round sadly, you'd have to chop and weld.

Re: Regular Car Reviews - Reuben's 1991 and 1998 Legacys

Yeah it was great to meet him, and I was very glad to be able to lend him my BC. Got to play tour guide around Wakatipu basin (the area around the lake and Queenstown), took him up to Glenorchy and whatnot. He was just on holiday, specifically stating he was here to see the country in person, and no...

Re: RckyMtnLegacy's 93 Turbo...EJ20G swap in progress!!

Btw, I'm running an EJ20K manifold, and TPS on an EJ20G loom from a 1990 GT. Simply done. You change the polarity, and adjust the angle of the sensor, the 20K TPS can matchb the range 20G ECU's require within their adjustment (both sensors are linear). The only thing you loose is the idle switch. I ...

Re: RckyMtnLegacy's 93 Turbo...EJ20G swap in progress!!

Reuben, the robtune takes the phase 2 injectors, if you select the "550cc" option. He doesn't have a tune for the phase 1 yellowtops (which we call "480cc's"). Hence the need for the ej25d (or ej20d which we didn't get here) fuel rails. I am actually running a set of ver 6 ej207...

Re: RckyMtnLegacy's 93 Turbo...EJ20G swap in progress!!

Did you sort the injector and fuel rail issue? (Sorry, I do t have enough time to read through). I saw someone mention you need 25D rails to run yellows. This is Not true. There are two versions of the yellow injector, phase-1 narrow body injectors from v3/4 STi and BG GTB Manuals, that fit in place...

Re: RckyMtnLegacy's 93 Turbo...EJ20G swap in progress!!

Coolant line bolts to the block, with the same bolts that bolt in the crossover pipe. Vac lines... Only vac lines of concern are the purge lines, and the line down to the fuel px regulator. Also on the last pic you posted of the engine, looks like you don't have the two pipes coming up from the wate...

Man, you need to get some lighting in that shed!!! Very cool though, good wee engines those late 20G's, not much can go wrong on them, and they go well with STi bolt on parts. Though leaving it stock will be ample for a light first gen, and keep things reliable :P

Re: Jessekrs123's 1993 Subaru Legacy L EG33 Swap

i assume the ignitor is SVX. So what stops an ECU outputting ignition signal. Can angle, crank angle, water temp affects timing. Not much, I can't think of anything else off the top of my head. So if those are all fine, take the cover off the ECU, fetch a magnifying glass, and have a nosie to look f...

I find your aversion to the brake booster a bit odd, never seen someone say 'hey, look at that big ugly brake booster, what a mess' before! Sand it, paint it, ignore it I say, subies suck with no power brakes, believe me, I've done more than my fair share of flat tows... One of the best upgrade I've...

Re: RckyMtnLegacy's 93 Turbo...EJ20G swap in progress!!

Had a skim over the last few pages, what a cool project, so tidy! I love the Impreza direct HLA 20G too, bloody good little motors, even with the right turbo and a stock legacy RS ECU, they pull nicely!

Still no good news with this thing sadly, hence my slow posting. Head gasket may be getting done this month though! My mate is going to help me do the head gaskets, but he's concerned with rust in the bores and the pitting that may cause. He has another EJ22 lying around we can scavange for parts if...

Sorry guys, I've let you down very badly :( For me it's just a case of finding time and motivation to take these bits to the post office and quote up shipping. Re: RckyMtnLegacy's 93 Turbo...Question Last Page! JDM Help

Can't say for sure, but yeah I thought EJ20 and EJ22 rods were the same. Now regarding coils, I recommend sticking to coil pack and leads, and to not go for the cool on plug, unless you are prepared to get 4 new coils off partsouq. The coil on plug setup with these 20G's is unreliable as heck, the c...

Update from Mitch: Big update time, First of all big thanks to Dave (DacerX) and Baddock for the 4.111 LSD Diff. Almost was completely fucked without this! Turns out this is a good one!, both wheels turn evenly off the ground, so we are looking good. Over the last week we had finished assembling the...
